Rodrigo Abols signs two year entry level deal with Panthers. I always liked this kid, thought he had 3/4 line potential. Oh well....

Yup just have to wait till his KHL contract expires in a little over a quick year, time flying these days!Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 8:22 pmYes but we can still get him back July 1st.Strangelove wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 7:56 pm https://twitter.com/AZadarski/status/11 ... 8141342720
So much for getting Tree back for next season.Andrew Zadarnowski
@AZadarski
It's going to become harder for NHL teams to bring over KHL players after their season ends, like Gusev and Gavrikov this year. The KHL is changing the rule that allowed KHL teams to retain rights for a player after terminating a contract. Now they will no longer retain rights.

KHL teams are less likely to release players under contract to the NHL now because they lose said player's KHL rights if they do.
Sabres, Skinner close to 8-year, ~$72M extension
Bob McKenzie on Jeff Skinner:
there’s been dialogue all week long between Skinner’s reps and Jason Botterill. The sense is there’s “optimism” but not to the point where either side is entirely comfortable w/ the numbers they’re exchanging. Expects more dialogue tomorrow.
“Buffalo certainly wants him back and Skinner wants to come back. They have to get the final massaging of the numbers until both sides are happy.”
“It’s very close but it’s not done.”

9 million wow
And put up a career-best year in his final season before UFA...Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 11:02 am Yikes I might consider that deal at five years. 72 million over eight years. Botterill just got schooled by Skinner’s agent. Pretty one dimensional guy who’s had a couple nasty concussions.
My thoughts exactly. No denying his talent but his concussion history is scary. But we have our own Petey who will always have the same concerns surrounding him. Fortunately we are a few years away from paying him that kind of money but it does give us an idea of what we are facing.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 11:02 am Yikes I might consider that deal at five years. 72 million over eight years. If Skinner is getting $9M then any discounts they hopped Marner would take is gone. There is always a home town discount but should this not mean that Marner will request $11?
Everyone knew Marner going to ask for 10- 11 million annually leaves will have to move someone like Johnsson, Kapanen or Nylander. Or Kadri for that matter. They would all be easy to move. Zaitsev is a poison pill contract they may have trouble movingReefer2 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 4:25 pmIf Skinner is getting $9M then any discounts they hopped Marner would take is gone.
