That's a bad one! But kinda funny......Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 8:26 pmMy biggest concern is his conditioning, only playing four games in the AHL before going AWOL.
The importance is being in game shape quickly and if he puts this into his primary focus and concentration, Kampf will not be gassed.

Toronto has the same record as Vancouver!

Shit. That's the most embarrassing thing I've ever heard about the Canucks.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

On the Kampf train.
Reviewing the fancy stats EP40 has the 2nd most D zone starts on the team.
This, combined with his below average FO win % has him starting to many shifts chasing as opposed to imposing.
He is also spending a minute per game more on the PK this year than last.
Another anti-offense stat for various reasons that do not require explanation here.
Kampf has been a solid performer in both areas over his career with 2 plus minutes per game PK time and 51% + win rate in the dot.
Theoretically, if he is properly managed by the coaching staff and performs at his career mean level this equates to increased O-Zone starts for ScotterDoodle and subsequently more goals/assists/points/team success.
A pure guess but this signing may also be a commentary on the reality of Bleugers injury situation.

Bluger has about 1/10th of the reasoning. The other 9/10th is the rest of the injury list we have.
Getting Kampf in is simply center depth and another NHL player on the roster. Now we can send an AHL player like Bains home.

Bleuger was 1/10th of the point of the post as well and the comment about him was perhaps he is more long term than we are being led to believe.

Blueger apparently suffered a set back which is probably why Mein Kampf became a no brainer.
You have to wonder how long they can carry on hanging in these games before despair sets in and they start looking at Tripping for Terence (McKenna)

So, MacEechern almost has more points last game than Bains in his career.
Can we safely say the Bains experiment is over, or do some here still think he needs more that the 40 games (or whatever) he already has to ‘get his fair shot’

Not to go all DEI* conspiracy nut, but Arshdeep Bains is Canuck property for the same reason that Jett Woo is Canuck property: someone at the Aquilini Investment Group thought that it would be useful to market such players to a local demographic (Hi Micky !) that looked like them in some respects.
*note that in my conspiracy this is a private enterprise marketing initiative, not a government or public institution mandate.
Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
While I am not sure on McEachern, Bains hasn't shown himself to be anything other than an injury call up warm body and I think its pretty clear that he never will. He's a perfect example of how there is not a linear AHL to NHL success relationship because NHL defenses/speed will not allow a player to use an attribute that the player exploited in the minors(for Bains, playmaking), where there are a few ticks more time and space and more mistakes to take advantage of. This is how a guy like Sasson, for example, has a better chance of sticking in the NHL than a guy like Bains even if Bains is the better AHL player. (FWIW, I don't think Sasson is anything more than a tweener, but his skating means he can use what he used in the AHL at the NHL level, and it means he might be able to pivot to other secondary roles that benefit from speed).Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Mon Nov 17, 2025 11:39 am So, MacEechern almost has more points last game than Bains in his career.

Me too, and I don't think much of him as an overall player. But by being competent at draws and competent on the PK, he serves a marginal role. And you are absolutely right to see the potential offensive upside as simply being freeing up EP40 for more offensive zone starts.

Do you think he will blitz the teams to the east of us?

I wonder if he'll roll in for the next camp?
Well, he's already taken the Lower Mainland. Quebec would probably surrender pretty quickly.
So, now we got the Third Reichel and Mein Kampf. I wonder how long we can keep this gag going?
As for the new guy, I expect the PK to improve by 3-5 spots... Woo! The end of all our Bains.
