Sutter and Eriksson for Lucic and a 2nd
The only one of the three that might need to be protected in the expansion draft is Lucic.
Ya, unless Lucic agrees ahead of time to waive his NMC for the expansion draft why trade for him and take up a protection spot?

Oilers are in tough as it is with the cap so they can't even take both Sutter+Loui.
If we did move loui for lucic, TG can just ice Looch with petey-boeser versus the teams that have cheap shot artists like Clutterbuck or Getzlaf as he tends to try to injure our players all the time, while clutterbuck destroyed Boeser in 2018.
Lucic - Petey - Boeser
Pearson - Horvat - _____ (can afford to get a small speedy RW with the new mass).
Roussel - Gaudette - Virtanen
Leivo - Beags - Motte/Granlund

Maybe Looch will do just that at this point.
The guy is desperate to get out of Edmonton.
Folks seem to like this trade just for the sake of moving Loui (and gaining an extra 2nd).
But there are easier ways to move Loui (and easier ways of gaining an extra 2nd).
Botch, your thoughts?
(too soon?)

Lol ya he is....but so in Eriksson. At least Looch can punch the shit out of someone when cheapshots are going on. It does still have its place in the game

I agree, I like Lucic, but his contract and his play isn’t worth taking on. A guy like macewen would be more valuable especially cause he can pk as well which is something Lucic can’t do. Eriksson is an option to a lot of teams especially after these worlds, he’ll be lighting it up with Sweden. I could see Montreal (with retention) with the coaching connection, Ottawa for the cap floor. Plus we got 2 retention spots again so if we’re retaining on him he’s still a good option as a utility player and would be an asset in that situation.

Lol, same guys who ran The Guds outta town...
4th line winger who plays 5 minutes max a night vs dman who consistently fumbles pucks resulting in goals against. Hmmmm...

It's like what Botch said all year, we need an army on this team, I don't know about you but if we're going into an hockey war/brawl I'd rather Lucic than Loui.
And like what Pearson did, maybe Lucic rekindles his scoring touch again while playing with his home town team, Lucic on the Oilers never felt right lol whatever that means, but it never seemed like a good fit from the beginning.
& looch did score 20 with the Kings and 23 with the oilers first year there, then their team crumbled the past couple years.
And he wouldn't be here to play defense! he'd only be here to kick ass and score some goals and he'd probably be better than most of the fringe players on this squad.
