According to the Mexican president, the caravan is being dealt with in Mexico but the border is not closed.

Whatever achievement Trump has made is lost in the exaggeration.

Apparently Mexico already has a comprehensive program aimed at stopping migrants from other countries on their way to the US Southern border, which the Mexican president explained on their phone call.

So actually nothing new was agreed.

Why is pardoning still a thing in this day and age? It stinks of royal privilege and doesn't belong in modern system of government.

Hands up those who believed Joe when he said he would not pardon Hunter.

Agreed. I've never understood how that can be allowed. It means presidents can have people commit crimes for them and then just pardon them. Like the case with Oliver North. And I'm sure thousand of others.

There needs to be a separation of powers between the executive government and the courts.
The right to pardon people distorts that. Glad we don't have it.
It fosters a culture of corruption.

This was seen also when ASAP Rocky was arrested in Sweden for beating someone up in the street. It was some drug addict that was annoying him and his crew, and they told him to go away, which he didn't, and eventually ASAP Rocky beat him up.

Now, as annoying as that druggie was, street fights are not encouraged in Sweden and Rocky was arrested.

Then Trump called our PM and asked him to take care of it.

Our PM was taken aback and had to try to explain that under Swedish law the government has absolutely no right to try to influence the courts. Those are separate branches and should be kept separate.

In the end Rocky was given a suspended sentence and had to pay damages to the druggie who apparently had needed some stitches.
It was no biggie, just a street brawl, first offence and they did not see it as a big risk that he would become a repeat offender, so...
Trump still tried to take credit for Rocky coming home though.
Like we were North Korea or something.
