Sending the Sedins to the draft could be the marketing ploy as they make moves for the Ruck twins.
Who else would they send? Everyone else is on their way out

As I said before, McKenna/Stenberg and even more so Malhotra are sea of ganlund guys with Nuge upside. Complimentry 1st line, decent second line potential. They may make the team next season either by earning a spot or forced into one and fans will oooooh and ahhhh.

There is still alot of trash to throw out in the forward group.

Reid and more so Verhoff are unicorns. Either could be long term anchors of the D. Combine with Biuim and Willander and let Hronek nurture to see where it goes.

Pretty fair assumption on the ceiling of these kids. Of course they can take another step but using the data they've exhibited to this point, they aren't looking like top end pieces.

Verhoeff not being all that mobile is my concern there but Reid has some serious game. I think I go with that one if I'm picking

If they are thinking about Reid, I hope some staffer is going through every social post the kid ever make for any hint "but someday want to go home and play in the United States", and if they find one, that is not a player on which to spend a draft pick unless they think they can flip him for increased value before the end of his entry-level contract.

I'm perfectly OK going with one of the RHD or even Carels (we already know we're not winning Dupont and there will be a lot of centers available next year). So interesting the differing opinions from scouts on who the best option is. Everything I've read and heard so far has it pretty evenly spread between the 3 including a few others projected a little further down.

Only fear is it sounds a little familiar to 2016 when we ended up with the worst possible choice when better options were available that ended up going later in McAvoy, Sergachev, Chychrun, etc.. The scouting reports were pretty evenly split back then too, albeit not many lists had these guys in the top 5. (Let's hope for a repeat of '93 when both Pronger and Niedermayer came out of that top 5.)

Barring a repeat of the 2016 disaster and we end up with a blue chip piece, the next phase of this will be fun in seeing what kind of return we can get for Hronek next year (doubt new D will step in anytime soon).

Standard risk when drafting any American at this stage of the draft no matter what they post on SM. I would opt for Carels myself for that very reason.

It would be in the teams best interest to maximize return on Hronek this off season in my opinion. He's pretty well at peak trade value and has been healthy for long enough to forget his prior injury concerns.

I'm moving him for as high a pick as possible in either this or next year's draft plus any extra we they can pry out of the acquiring team

We can find mentors on the waive wire or in free agency plus they need to have Biuim running the point on the first unit to see what we have there

The more I delve into to the rankings the more I want them to take one of the D unless either McKenna or Stenberg fall to us. Maholtra is an interesting choice but not at #3

I mentioned in another post today full NMC's are moveable, but Filip's could be tricky. Not sure why he insists on sticking around for this. Guessing by mid way next season he will have had enough.
