This is what Wids and yours truly were saying... and it hints we were right about the 3 snowmen who were shipped out.
People who don't get why the 3 snowmen did not garnish much of a return = People who don't know they were snowmen.
Edmonton was well aware of the problem and were trying desperately to cut out the cancer
... before it affected the next McGeneration.
Guys like Ference and Lucic were brought in to try to get these kids to wake the fuck up.
Now, FROM THE GET-GO the Coil should have brought in more vets to lead the way
... but alas, they did not have a genius at the helm.

Now, you have to overpay the right kind of vets to get on board early in a rebuild
... but you do it anyway and just ignore the "but-but-but they're overpaid!!" can't-handle-a-rebuild mental midgets.

Most great teams grossly overpay a gaggle of 3rd and 4Th liners and bottom pairing D men . It’s been a recipe for success for many years

It was massive amounts of immaturity. Boys suddenly load with cash, fame and puck bunnies galore. They lived for partying not hockey. No doubt they tried 100% on ice during games but as Ference says the party culture prevented them from being able to play at top notch. He was very vocal to management while he was there but until Chiarelli came on board there seemed to be huge uncertainty about how to fix it.
At least Hall seems to have gotten the message, like P. Kane finally did and like Seguin finally did.
