I don’t like rodents. But Tkachuk is a far superior player to any rodents the Canucks have ever had. I just don’t like seeing a team I hate get gifted a top end player while we ended up with a pretty meh prospect.

C'mon Blob, you'd be the first one calling out Tkachuk for his chicken-shit stuff if he were a Canuck.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 8:40 pm I don’t like rodents. (hell, you called out Kesler every time!)
And to be honest I'd probably be defending Tkachuk to a certain extent due to my fanboy side.

Probably. I always loved the guys who can finish what they started. Curt Fraser, Kassian, Diduck, Momesso, hell even Pavel. Still Dude that’s pretty flimsy. Not saying you’re lying but for me I’ll only mention the guys I know who did it. Kassian, Murdoch, Fuhr, Kuznetsov, most of the 80s Coilers, most of the 86 Mets.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 8:47 pmA classmate of mine is married to a previous owner of cowboys.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 8:40 pm I don’t like rodents. Did anyone punch harder than Fraser?
Did anyone ever deliver as many goal-crease cross-checks as Diduck?
Was anyone stronger along the boards or in a scrum than Momesso?
Did anyone else... other than Howe... ever deliver as devastating an elbow as Bure that one time?

Did anyone even deliver half as many thunderous open ice hits as Smyl?
Did anyone ever snort more lines than Kassian between periods?

going to hear from a GM, to making a mistake. It's honest.
And remember, just two years earlier, they drafted Jake and in late spring 2016, they may have felt Mathew, though better numbers, was similar.

Trevor hates his dad. I'm sure that had something to do with it considering they didnt even give him an interview. Its unheard of for a top 10 drafting team to not envite a top 10 ranked prospect. Nobody will ever really know but it sure stunk like Lindens ego might have had a hand in things

Re: LOL
Yeah it was a mistake, like that needs to still be clarified. Isn’t the first and last time that will happen when drafting 18 year olds. It was a combination of things:
- I’m sure Linden wasn’t on board to drafting Keith’s son
- We had not drafted a defenceman in the first round since Luc Bourdon - 8 drafts prior to 2016. The best defenceman Gillis drafted in 6 drafts - Hutton, Subban, Sauve and Connauton. Ouch! Just putrid!
- they drafted two wingers in the first round of the prior two drafts - Virtanen and Boeser, considered the least important position after Centre, defense and goaltending
- the Canucks badly needed D-men in the prospect pool kept harping on about it leading up to the draft in fact most everyone was ok with the pick “yes I would have liked Tkachuk but we badly need top young D-men in the pool”
- the through the roof high premiums off acquiring young D-men through trade made it understandable
- not too mention most everyone became enamoured with Juolevi’s playoff performance
- move on. Benning has dominated the last 3 drafts since. Absolutely killed it.

Good advice dude. Its been argued about enough now.
I wonder what we see at camp out of ollie. Realistically hes been out for almost a year and should be pretty rusty. Hopefully fans and the team preach some patience while he catches up in Utica

They also needed wingers at the time. It was a bad pick, glad you agree. And it’s got fuck all to do with hindsight. Most people were shaking their heads when Vancouver made the pick.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 8:03 pmIt’s ignorant hyperbole with the benefit of hindsight. The team needs dmen, there’s your defense for the pick, thus not indefensible. Call it a bad pick fine, but leave the hyperbole out of it.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 7:26 pmOk what’s a better word for ya Sparky? Stupid? asinine? moronic? They all fit. A toddler could have made that pick. I’m sure if Benning had a few beers under his belt he’d admit it was a terrible pick that he’d like to have back. Bridge under the water. I’m over it. Just had to once again explain to Aldo that I don’t love the player (Tkachuk), I hated the pick. He either has trouble with English or he just wants to derail another thread.
This thread is for poking fun at the tards at the tard farm.
