Springing ahead is too much of a challenge when you are accustomed to Falling back.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The gift that keeps on giving:

http://t.thestar.com/#/article/sports/l ... games.html

Seems Shanahan stepped in directly to handle this one.

So there is a history with Kadri, aka, Tavaris wannabe, so Shanny is publically calling him out and increasing the suspension, that the coach and GM had previously set at one game.

Of course the captain stepped up too to protect his player. None of this Winterpeg stuff about hey we have team rules and we are professional so follow the rules or get out. And his clothes wern't thrown in the shower either.

Nothing here folks, just a problem child getting spanked. But don't worry, he can dress for the Vancouver game. Just our luck he scores a hattie

11 pts in 15 games is the current going rate.

I have a hard time fathoming Shanny the media whore not delivering this to the bus bomber via media released video but not surprised he went very public with the news.

It's the fact that the coach and GM already dealt with this. For him, as president, to then step in and hold a press conference seriously undermines the coach and GM. If he has a problem with the way it was handed he should have addressed it with those two. It's like Trevor stepping in to question something that Benning and or Willie already handled. You just don't do it.

Now I get the coach is toast once the season is over. And probably Nonis will be gone soon, but you can't do that. It makes a bad situation worse.

... and not surprised he kept calling Kadri "a repeat offender".

If Shanny actually cared about character, he would have suspended Phil + Dion over Salutegate.

Also, Shanny says Kadri's issues have been going on for a long time.

And that these issues are "common" among young NHL players.

Leaf fans have been saying Kadri has been their best forward this year (advanced stats back that up).

Three-game suspension... might magically fix Kadri's "unprofessional-ism" according to Shanny.

So what does this all add up to?

TANK

What is it with Torontonians + Tanking these days...

Will RFA Kadri sue Shanahan for damaging his brand with this public shaming?

Tune in tomorrow for another thrilling episode of As the Centre of the Universe Turns!

The article did say Nonis is scouting drive throughs in another city and is unavailable.

What kind of bus bomber is a repeat offender?

Yes but did Shanny really need to put Kadri on display? :wow:

Seriously... NO ONE KNEW... Kadri had issues until Shanny went out of his way to announce it.

Usually we don't find out.

Usually an ultimatum is made privately

... and the player is listed as day-to-day with an upper body injury or some-such.

Shanny is making an example out of Kadri because he doesn't have the sack to go after the ringleaders.

Image

Cap'n Bert and Big Bucks Ernie!

But yeah, the tank became transparent somewhere in the midst of

- trading away their entire 3rd line (Winnik-Santo-Clarkson)

- trading away their best defenseman (Franson)

- having their next best defenseman (Phaneuf) sit out an excessive 7 weeks with a bruised hand

- having their only other veteran defensemen (Robidas + Polak) opt for season-ending surgery (a la Kane)

I mean it's not like the Leaves had any depth at all to replace any of those guys.

And no way were Franson, Winnik, Santo, Robidas, and Polak part of the problem.

What kind of message is Shanny trying to send to the rotten core anyway:

"Shape up or you might be the next one I feed to rabid media" ??

Whatever, I couldn't be happier... the Leaves are the biggest train wreck in the NHL

... and they're not even gonna get to draft Top 4 to make up for it. Image

Just when I think things couldn't get better

... ole Shanny decides to wash some dirty laundry in public!

I'll bet Nonis/Horachek refused to have anything to do with dat dere....

Horachek had stated in his benching announcement that there was history with the bus bomber.
Interim coach Peter Horachek brought up Kadri’s “past” as something he talked to the 24-year-old centre about when telling him he’d be scratched against the Islanders.
Once again Strangelove........

Seriously? Aren't we a bit old for that? Honestly, it's pretty offensive and if you held up a sign "#43 - Bus Bomber" in a hockey arena you could and should be booted out.

"Gino Odjick - Glue Sniffer"

or whatever. It's in poor taste.
