It's a long road to the playoffs 1st round and to playing a round

You were likely thrilled with the 2014/2016/2019 1st round picks though. It's one thing to fuck up a late first rounder in a bad draft........ but hey buds continue on duffing top 10 picks in good drafts. We have another Moores suit and some shitty hair dye for you.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 7:06 pmWhen he walked to the podium and said Yensen, at that moment I wanted to wring his neck.Canuckbröd wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 6:57 pmI think we were all miffed that Gillis got the jobMegaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 6:54 pm I'm still kind of miffed that Gillis took Yensen instead of his teammate Jenner that year.

Standing there with that shir eating grin on his face announcing 'Yensen', I hated him ever since. I mean Boone Jenner was his fucking teammate ffs.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 7:10 pmYou were likely thrilled with the 2014/2016/2019 picks though. Matthew Tkachuk was Olaf's teammate. Rogers Arena draft party was thrilled.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 7:13 pmStanding there with that shir eating grin on his face announcing 'Yensen', I hated him ever since. @ Meg I believe you're coming from a normal place. This place was a cesspool for years. It seems on the up and up these days. I am happy with the battle level of the team. Some folks are still enraged JT got traded and quit posting. Others quit when Elmo got canned, others are mad at the way they treated Bruce. Still others are angry at Luca Sbiza not getting a fair shot.
I cheer for the sweater. These guys are laying it on the line. Whether they get there or not or the haters get bitter about a five game stomping is their deal. They've been decimated by injuries on top of a barrage of fecal matter which we don't ned to re-hash. Really what's the difference between having two extra draft picks in 2027 and watch the team get throat pumped for 20 games or a full building hoping that Lekkerimäki, D Petey, R2D2, Mancini etc can sniff a playoff race. It will help the kids in the long run to get this type of experience under their belts. Hell, look at Hughes. He's giving it everything.
I really hate the loser mentality of the fanbase. On the deadline day they were one point out of the playoffs. How to you sell a sell off to Quinn? When the previous management had to be dragged out of the American after they had wan out of time on deadline day, after being a dozen points out of a WC spot, thats the time to skin management. There's a time to drive it into the ditch. Not at one point out.
Need 13-14 points in 9 games and likely some help. Seeing the garbage dump teams in the East other than the top dogs is a bit frustrating. Teams like NYR, Jackets, Islanders, Habs would be about as good as the Kraken or Utah if they had to play out West.

I was more surprised that they didn’t send a draft pick out for some more forward depth at the TDL then that they held on to their UFAs.
Maybe they knew Raty was their future 2C.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..
Re: SOL-GDT: Nucks at blue jackets mar 28/25 4:00 pst SN
Definitely a bad way to lose. They came out hot, but sloppy defensively and Lankinen kept the door closed to take a 3-0 lead into the 2nd period.
After that it was a bus largely driven by Columbus and the Canucks were opportunistic on a rather average Elvis.
The 3rd period was a dog’s breakfast of own zone turnovers, miscommunication, and legs that just seemed tired in the 2nd last game of a 2 week road trip.
It’s pretty hard to watch your team cruising through the prime years of the best player we’ve ever had without roster support. Hughes is the modern day Bobby Orr, but even Bobby had Espo and Bucyk.
As an aside, someone should tell Elvis that when you get torched for 6 goals you look pretty ridiculous with that cele…..particularly when the shootout attempts were very lacking.

The Abbey boys have come to play. This I find rewarding. They are getting into a string of games, situations and minutes. And it is starting to show. I think Raty is ready. He is decent on the F/O and has an elite shot. Foot speed will always be his downside. But he also plays L/W also and is versatile. I have liked the few games Ive seen from Karlsson and Lekkermatki. Aman who cares. And of course all the kids on D have been terrific. So I think our future does bode well, if we can ever get there.
I think we all agree we need to strengthen the centre position. If we can do that I think we can have a good rebound season next year. I also think we have to look hard at re-signing Suter. The Swiss Army knife is showing how valuable he is. Just the cap is the question. Blueger only has one year left. He is good but I think we can either let him walk next year or move him in the offseason to make room for one of the kids.
Most of our Bottonm 6 have either 1 or 2 years left. So if we think we have better options we have may have to move off some of them sooner rather than later.
