Since folks are discussing the Mausoleum, the Goldeneyes had a reported 10,366 fans out tonight
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The Coliseum was too small. Iirc the NHL was directing that barns should start to seat more fans and the PC only held 16,200. That would currently rank 30th in the league.

Of course that was at a time when merchandise was far less of a money maker than it is today, and gate revenue and concessions were more important by comparison.

Rogers Arena currently sits 9th in the league in capacity, it certainly doesn’t demand an upgrade there.

The idea someone on here threw out of relocating back to the Coliseum for a year while they update Rogers is a good one. But I don’t feel like it’s the highest priority.

Timing-wise though…..I’d look at doing it in a few years to coincide with the rebuild re-opening a compete window.

Going back for a year and reviving that era of Canucks branding would probably generate some excitement amongst fans of our age, and it hopefully that passion for Canucks HOCKEY would be contagious like it was from 89-Messier and then again from WCE-2010. Perfect for a rebuilding team to establish themselves and move back into a sparkling face-lifted Rogers and make their mark.
These are interesting ideas, Mëds. A nostalgic trip back to the old barn would be fun.

Maybe the Goldeneyes could move to the Island or something?
