I hope it isn’t the colossal fuckup that it currently is in the future too. Short of Olaf becoming a top pairing 25 min a night stud that seems far fetched.

I wish him well but I do t see that happening . These high first picks pretty much always establish themselves within a year or two after their draft.

Drafted in 2016
Played in Europe 2017
Came to Utica played 18 games was a minus 12 before being injured he’s 6’3” 200 lbs

I don’t think your assessment of his development follows the normal flow. I think in another year of injury free play we will be quite pleased at the pick.

Half a year in Utica then up to the big club for the remainder of his career...

I’d love to be wrong. But right I don’t see Hampus Lindholm or Oliver Ekman Larsson, I see Lukas Krajicek

Imagine Blob a blackhawks fan in the early 2000's: That Duncan Keith man, two full years in the AHL and he's not tearing it up, only 21 pts as a rookie...what a waste, shoulda taken Stajan or Boychuk.

Keith was a 2nd round pick not a top 5 pick.

Nice try though

Point is, even talented HHOF dmen take awhile to develop, not every player no matter how elite become instant star NHL'ers, takes some time to adjust to the pros.

Olli Juolevi in his short stint with Utica was their top dman from day one (and thats with not a lot of talent on the Comets), he's got a lot of potential, and I hope he's 100% this September!

Olli was also making some good plays in preseason as well with Petey, a lot more astute than Edler on the powerplay.

No he looked horrible in camp. Please tell the truth.

Name me a current top pairing NHL d man who wasn’t playing meaningful minutes in the league that was drafted in the top half of the first round. These blue chip guys figure it out pretty quickly.

Sure there are later round guys who later on become excellent players. Those are like found money. Then again you guys abhor collecting any extra draft picks do who really knows right?

I see Blob is trying to focus our attentions on drafting Juolevi instead of Tkachuk after the QUINN Hughes show!

“Trade Boeser for Jones” - Blob

‘Displaced Aggression’ example - fan putting down the player drafted for not drafting the player the fan wanted.

Juolevi was really good with the Comets prior to injury, blob ya gotta learn to appreciate developing future star players and not force rushing prospects and ruining their development path a bit like what happened to Virtanen before Green had rebuild him up in Utica.

OJ - one year playing with men in Finland, then what shoulda been a full year in the AHL with call-ups is a proper path for a Euro two-way dman.

He's going to be a great addition for many years to come, and christ he's only 20 still.

Cool story. Will read again

Pretty difficult to teach helmet wearing mongoloids common sense.

Blob throwing out ad hominems like they are going out of style when presented with the realization that he continually downgrades a player because that player wasn’t the player he wanted - displaced aggression

“It’s not your fault, Blob. It’s not your fault”

Island Nucklhead, your thoughts?

Play the long game. Tortoise won the race over the Hare.

Not everyone develops at the same rate.

See Sedins.

They are borderline HOFs.

Where's Comrie and Havlat? The discussion then was they were MUCH better because they jumped out of the gate. Debunked.

I was talking top 10 picks a bit more recent, specifically D men. Then lo and behold Warren from Something About Mary has another huge crap on a thread because he’s lacking attention.

Anyways the Sedins probably developed a lot slower than any kids most of us have ever seen.

I concur.
