Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward
Can someone with better math skills than me tell me how much cap space the team still has.
Washington Money Grab, formelly know as Cap Friendly shows then with only $1.2M but then they have players than can be moved to the farm. If my calculations (more like a WAG) are correct they have ~$3M left then the LTIR money kicks in? But this amount seems high?

Yes. noo big tickets.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 8:42 am I've been for building out the team with some quality players at reasonable prices instead of chasing a big ticket item anyway. This is for the best.
Tuevo or DeBrusk would be a good start. Brendan Dillon, DeSmith. A couple of cheap depth pieces.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

With the Patera signing maybe they are thinking Silovs as b/u?!

Looks that way Don. This just underscores once again how stealthily this management group operates. No leaks.

Closer to $5 million left as the $3.7 million includes 23 guys on the roster - obviously if they sign anybody else they need to send a guy down or waive him. Could get to $6 million if they go with 22, which I think they will do given Abby is just down the road. Good amount of space for another medium sized contract if they want to.

Two huge right side D still out there in Desharnais and Hakanpaa. Wonder if Allvin is going to add somebody like that? Definitely need more defensive depth.

Oh man, Hakanpaa would be just about ideal for our needs.

Should have signed him instead of Poolman 3 years ago.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:16 amOh man, Hakanpaa would be just about ideal for our needs.

Hakanpaa all the way. He can play top 4 but is a righty. How did the script get flipped on the righty lefty thing anyway???Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:16 amOh man, Hakanpaa would be just about ideal for our needs.

Should mention that I wrote this before they signed Patera as a likely backup. Around $4.5-$4.7 million left with a 22 man roster, so again can add somebody closer to $5.5 million if they want to.Diehard1 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:12 amCloser to $5 million left as the $3.7 million includes 23 guys on the roster - obviously if they sign anybody else they need to send a guy down or waive him. Lots of room left especially with the Poolman contract on LTIR.

Silovs will get done soon. Hakanpaa would be a nice add and there was rumoured interest a couple of weeks back. Alex Carrier would also be solid - he’s small but very good defensively and has more skill than Hakanpaa but would be much more expensive.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:23 amHakanpaa and Silovs and call it a wrap.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:21 amHakanpaa all the way. I’m guessing Allvin wants to leave some space for in season moves after what happened last year, so one more D add and I think they are done.
