It all depends on what happens with the german. If he isn't signed before the trade deadline, what do the Oilers do? Do you trade him to cash in on some assets? Do you run with him into the playoffs with the possibility of him leaving at the end of the season for nothing, for a chance at a cup? It will be interesting to see how the whole situation is handled. Personally, I hope they keep him and don't win the cup, then he walks away for nothing.Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 12:19 am Too bad for the Oil, battled back for nothing. Gotta say though, if I were a betting man, I would go all in with the Oil for the Cup next season. They know they can do it now, just some tweaks here and there will result in a different outcome. They now have the taste, experience and have gone through the growing pains. Just like the 80s Oil who had to lose to the NY Isles before learning what it takes to go all the way to win Lord Stanley.

If they are close they don’t trade him and risk losing him. It’s the price contenders pay.BCExpat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 8:04 pmIt all depends on what happens with the german.
