Maybe they're not spending any money on an asset they'll soon be selling?

"Investment" may not be the best word in this case.

Speaking of cheap ownership and seeing as this is the young guns thread Buium is eligible for an 8 year extension this off season.

Might want to be thinking that over at Grinch level.

You know that unless the kid shows stalled development that they will look to lock him up as long as possible - such is the scar tissue left by Quit’s departure.

8 x 8 get it done?

Kid is a rock star. Exudes personality. Keep Filip around to mentor.,Meaty for a couple years. That D wih the young Swedes will be sick. Not much room for the three promising pups in Abby. Let Tyler play out the string and have him join Manny's staff for 27/28.

Ge Forbor healthy for a coupleweeks along with Blueger and trade em both. Cy Young too.,You can't detonate the teak bucanything less than 10-12 picks in this draft is inexcusable. I want Joe Iginla and one or both those Ruck twins. Load up on 2nd and 3rd rounders. Hopefully the Mild lose in the first round and they pick low 20's.

I really like him Blob.

Mature as fuck and says all the right things.

Commented that he has never been one to shift around teams.

Let's take advantage of that.

I'm fine with 8x8. Hutson was 8x8.85 so there is precedent and conversation towards your suggestion.

Kid may never be top 2 D in the league generational but he has star written all over him.

He is slick as fuck and has solid overall game. Another 10-15 lbs. and who knows what we end up with here.

A decade of Buium and Willander as our top pairing has foundational written all over it.

Yeah, I think even the Grinch should jump at an 8x8.

Hutson, Faber, Sanderson... all in that range.

Give him and Willander 2-3 years. Oh boy.

Agree of Buium. Remarkable composure for someone who turned 20 13 days ago. You really couldn't ask for a higher ceiling prospect who more or less proved he's already a top 4 NHL damn at 19. Unreal upside

Willander still bobbles pucks like most at his age. More seasoning required to steady his panic threshold

Is Ohgren starting to enter the Hughes trade conversation as more than just a throw-in??

Kid is showing some jam, speed and hands since coming over.

Top-six physical winger option on a contending team? One can but hope, but the sample size - small as it is - gives cause for guarded hope.

Just stop the tank, will ya??

I haven't seen a game since the trade, but what I've read I'm encouraged by. Especially when factoring his rumoured commitment to fitness and strength training.....could be our own Tomas Holmstrom (but with better wheels and mobility).
