Now you add Luke Hughes and a solid D... well, this should be their time.

Yup, I wouldn't put too much into his playoff numbers yet. The 12 playoff games @24yo was by no means a horrible performance.

Btw, if you have to compare EP to anyone, it should be Jack Hughes... slight, dynamic #1 center who should be leading the offence and running the PP, showcasing his skills every night. Consistent. No excuse-making. $8M x 8.
Perhaps if a certain GM who huffed gas regularly didn't prioritize Tanner Pearson in 2021 Instead of Quinton and Elias we'd have both of them till 2029 at 8 and change and more cap space. But I guess he wan out of time.

One trade the Canucks might be able to actually pull off is reacquiring Luke Schenn from Nashville. He'd help keep Miller in line,Quinn would be happy too.Admittedly we do need a higher caliber defenseman, but Schenn might be the tonic that fixes the dressing room.

Looking back, I am actually shocked Hughes is still happy here. Plays well with Tanev, Canucks let him go. Plays well with Schenn, same outcome.

Canucks and Stars reported as trade partners. Chef likes some of the assets in Dallas. They have some good young prospects they can part with. Chefs deal:

J.T. Miller

For

Mavrik Bourque - Centre

Drafted 30th OA 2020
Bourque has played 43 games with Dallas this year

Lian Bichshel - LS Defenceman

Drafted 18th overall 2022
Lian has played 9 games with Dallas this year

Dallas emerging as a trade partner for the Canucks:

If Garland, Hoglander, and Stankoven can’t play well together, at least they can be put in a plaza as garden gnomes.

Not sure they’d entertain that. I like him and all but he could’ve cast as an extra in the Wizard of Oz he’s that small.

Remind Nill Nieuwendyk for Iginla helped win them a Cup so we will do Miller for Wyatt Johnson and they can thank us in June.

I wish, but Jim Nil responds with a big fat no.

Does ownership in Dallas and Vancouver allow them to trade?

The Aqualini puppet masters have probably already given notice to trade picks and prospects to fix this, NOW!
