LOL as Donny mentioned, a guy was in the stands in Abby last night holding a sign offering to throw in twenty to sign Willander.

I'm sure they didn't mean to show it, but they're always panning the crowd on every break, looking for East Indians to show enjoying the game, and there it was

Yes, and the WOPs who built those dens of iniquity, are all in this photo, taken in the early 40’s. A roomful of Vancouver’s top bootleggers of the time - Ross Filippone at the head of the table in a tie, his brother Mickey to his left. The Filippone’s with brothers Joe and Jimmy owned the Penthouse, although when this photo was taken they hadn’t opened the cabaret yet until a few years later. Ross’ son Danny runs the Penthouse currently. To Mickeys left is Joe Iaci, of Iaci’s Restaurant which for many years operated across the street from the Penthouse, I spent a lot of time at Iaci’s as a kid. The Iaci’s are cousins of the Filippone’s. And last but not least, to Joe Iaci’s left in the jacket with the striped sleeves and collar is Gillie Brandolini, whom which the No. 5 Orange is named after. The number 5 was Gillie’s favourite number. Gillie bought the Melbourne Hotel in 1943 (what the number 5 was originally called) on earnings from bootlegging, operating out of Hogan’s Alley in Strathcona. Gillie and his Dad did a few terms in Oakalla. Gillies son turned the 5 into a stripper bar.
