The #Flames have placed Lance Bouma and Ryan Murphy on unconditional waivers.
Should the Canucks sign Lance Bouma to center the fourth line? A pretty gritty guy who scored 16 goals in 2014/15.

Rumours around Calgary is Bouma has been disciplined more than once over his love of the night life. He was also involved in Super Bowl gate. The guy has sacrificed his body so many times that it's hard to tell when he's healthy.

So a wounded warrior on the ice and a party till I drop sort of guy off ice. Perhaps if the price is right he may make a great addition to the 4th line but if rumours are true about his negative off ice influence over players like Monaghan and Johnny Hockey then one would have to ask if Bouma fits the character description the Canucks are said to be looking for.

Hard to tell though if the off ice rumours are true.

Shram has reiterated Canucks interest and a probable signing of Nilsson and Del Zotto.

Ah, damn-it. I know how hard I lobbied against the idea of E Kane and I know that's a pricey last year on that contract
but now I'm starting to think he might solve a few problems, AND, his career would be riding on what he does and
DOES NOT do in that final year.
See Doc, I can be flexible, sometimes.... ;)

Don't see the point in this, do you?

Yeah. Hutton is on the block. MDZ is a low-risk, high-reward stop gap b/w Hutton and Olli.

Nilsson should be an ok backup for marky they are both 6'6 swedes for crying out loud.

Del Zotto should be a decent puck mover with Gudbranson on the 3rd pairing.

IF he's signed tomorrow:

Edler - Stecher
Hutton - Tanev
Del Zotto - Gudbranson

helluva a top 6 under the circumstances, and I don't see a trade because of signing DZ, he's better in a limited role.

In what?

Nilsson is a back up with history and familiarity with Markstrom and holds the fort for 1-2 years while Demko gets ready.

Del Zotto is another Sbisa but can put up a few more points. Also a lot cheaper than some of the other options being talked about I guess. But I'm not a Del Zotto fan so I'd rather take a pass.

Seems to me that no matter how how hard Benning wants to be competitive this year it isn't in the cards. I'd sooner he just sign plugs that can be traded at the deadline for picks in the 4-7 round. He seems good a selecting in those rounds.

Another Sbisa in what way Wid?

I see MDZ as a pmd who should have more O than shown, who is also an underwhelming defender.

Yup. So long as he grabbing these guys on short term contracts, should be easy to flip them for picks later.
MDZ for a year or 2 is ok. Then, get some sandpaper 3rd line kinda guys that ad also short term contracts.. pick up another couple picks at TDL.. good summer!!

Turnover fella, not good defensively - It's why the puck rusher will be paired with a defensive dman on the bottom pairing with Guds, imo that's a decent 3rd pairing. MDZ if healthy is capable of putting up some solid NHL points, 41 points in 2012, 32 points in 2015.

MDZ is also injury prone, so we'll have the Swedish Philip Holm be his backup, who was the bottom pairing dman on the Gold Medal team this year whom Edler calls:
Edler on Philip Holm: He's a very strong skater, great guy, hard-working. What I saw was all positives. I think he can be a very good player
To me it's a solid signing IF it happens, I only hope it's a couple years long, lowerish cap.
