That first pairing for BU is easy to play against. Pandolfo should get Willander in there alongside Hutson; that last WM goal was embarrassing.

Will he or won’t he sign now.
Apparently Canucks want him to sign an AHL contract and go to Abbotsford. We will see.

Just noticed Sushi ended up with 24 games. So sending him down preserves Calder eligibility, I think. How long can sushi stay fresh?

They're obviously counting on him not spoiling over the summer for a fresh Calder run next season UW

Re: Canucks Young Guns
So it seems that it is Willander holding things up. I remember reading a few weeks ago that he had said he wanted to finish his academic requirements before turning pro and may opt to play one more year, at least, at BU. Gaffar is reporting today that this is the case. Seems he loves his time at BU and wants to finish his degree so it may be easier getting 3 years done before he turns pro. Also, he has no interest in playing in Abby and would rather play his 3rd year at BU than go to the farm. He sees himself a better fit in 1-2 years to make the Canucks and would rather get his degree and enjoy BU than toil in Abby.
Or so the story goes. He is committed to Vancouver, just not yet.

Rick Dhaliwal
@DhaliwalSports
Tom Willander's advisor Todd Diamond : "Our intent was/is to turn pro, but if we don't agree on a contract that Tom and his family are comfortable with, returning to BU and other situations become possible over the next few seasons."
So now Dhaliwal has followed up his reporting with a direct quote from Willander's agent. Perhaps he is right all along. If so, I can't imagine why the Canucks are balking at the bonus structure. I get that if he makes the team his potential bonuses count against the cap but if we are that close to the cap then we have bigger problems.

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Wtf! I have never heard of this with a top prospect before.
They make what they make on their ELC then top it up with performance bonuses that we should be thrilled with paying as it means they are meeting or exceeding expectations.
Why would the baldo brothers risk antagonizing their prized assets?
