Nice edit on that last line bitch. (I know nothing about SJ)
OOPS ?

You know me doc. I've been the rose coloured glasses guy forever.
This is the first time in years I can remember going into the season with such a negative disposition.
Listen to me closely Eddy: You're getting swept down in a whirlpool of
unjustified negativity!
Seriously, I've never seen such a thing in all these years... in all of Canuckdom.
Ever since last season ended, minds are being poisoned at an alarming rate and
we haven't played a game yet.
THINK ABOUT IT

For the record, I wanted a full rebuild. "Re-tooling while staying competitive" is a recipe for years of mediocrity as far as I'm concerned.
A
full rebuild began the day Gillis was fired my brother.
If you can remain competitive (Sedins + salary-max team) during a full rebuild, why not do so?
The trick is to keep your focus on where this team will be 3-4 years from now.

the three big issues that have made me lose almost all faith in Benning is the Sbisa contract (absolutely inexcusable), trading Zack (more so the joke of a return while still giving a pick) and keeping Miller over Lack..... and the return that came with that too.
Hey I was anti-Sbisa before anyone else was.... but 3-4 years from now that contract doesn't exist.
F O C U S
(and hey there's always the possibility Benning is a genius scout - wasn't that his rep?)
Zack has physical and mental issues, some we can talk about, some we can't.
The chances of Zack ever overcoming these issues aren't great.
And if the story about his hostility toward Bo is true...
Anywho, you don't take these kinds of risks during a rebuild.
You want character kids with character mentors.
At this point we were fortunate to find a taker for Zack...
Lack is a 27.
666-year-old solid backup, best he ever might be is a 1A type goalie IMESHO.
A high 3rd is fair value.
Miller's contract is up in 2 years = F O C U S.
Miller is a good guy to mentor young Marxstrom.
Going with Lack + Markstrom would be sheer madness.
It's fair to assume that 3-4 years from now Markstrom/Demko are better goalies with better futures than Lack.
Did I mention it's a
full rebuild.
Do Benning-haters even know what they want?
Do they really want to save tons of money with Lack/Bonino/Stanton/Kassian... over Miller/Sutter/Sbisa/Prust?
And if so... WHY?
Because they want more cap-room so we can bring in some big salaries?
These same people seem to be saying there is no point in trying to compete right now, so WDF?
WHY do they want to save cap-room during a rebuild?
Miller/Sutter/Sbisa/Prust are a much better group of players than Lack/Bonino/Stanton/Kassian
.... and I'll bet they're a much better group of mentors as well.
(I'll trust Benning/Linden to make those kinds of calls)
I'll give Benning the benefit of the doubt until
the product on the ice says otherwise.
Why would anyone listen to a gaggle of geeks and their ridiculous off-season computer models/projections!
The truth is they can't handle a rebuild and are
FREAKING OUT... much to the shame of Canuckdom
.... and the delight Canuck-haters everywhere.
