JB needs to look long term and do what is right for the team and if this means Boser needs to miss a month so be it. Just because 1 GM gave the wrong type of deals it does not mean it should become the norm. If Boeser/Kachuck and others all miss part of the season because their agents are trying to construct a deal that butt fracks the team when it expires then just say no.
Yes the players will get their money and they have a right to request what ever they want.
Reefer is ok with BB not starting until Nov/Dec if it helps the team long term, they are not a contender yet so no negative impact to the team to do it right this time.

So you would consider JB a genius if Brockey_Hockey sits 1/3 of the season and Vancouver misses the playoffs by 8 points.

lol - did I say that?
I said JB needs to do what is right for the team long term and not cave in to an agents un realistic demands because it will impact future contracts as well. This is not for Vancouver alone, other teams are going through the same thing as there seems to be a trend where the 2nd contract is becoming more difficult to get signed.
to paraphrase something I heard on the radio, BB wants a deal that shows something like $10M on the final year as that will be the amount the Canucks needs to qualify him on. Maybe it was HW who said that and if it is what BB and agent want then hope BB can handle a month or 2 of no hockey.
But I guess for you signing BB to any deal is ok?

So you...
think... you heard someone somewhere saying Boeser wants $10M on the final year of his contract
... and based on that you want Jimmy to crush Mr Boeser!

They are speaking of the possibility of new contract years for Boeser. Starting to hear more often that the team may like a three year deal.
If I'm Brock and his agent, I wouldn't feel safe with three. There might not be enough left. Seriously.
In order for this resurgence of Stanley cup contender is to succeed, it's going to take everyone and I mean everyone, to take the Horvat approach.
Brock-now and Quinn and Petey in two years. Whereas that might NOT be the direction of thought, viewpoints, of their perspective agents, It would be great to see everyone on board with the build a dynasty plan.
I'm not as optimistic of a considerable cap increase as many. Maybe the new gambling income will translate in a higher cap but I wouldn't bet on it.
Like to see Boeser here by Wednesday; Thursday at the latest. Anything that passes the beginning of camp or even into pre-season and I will
think someone is not playing nicely. Trust me; that is me being polite.
Of note; I could give a flying f**k about; "Well nothing happens till the others start signing", bullshit.

As we plunge into RFA signing (or not) season, the three-year bridge contract Werenski signed is instructive in understanding some of the dynamics at work, specifically what is the Year 3 salary? AAV is, of course, vitally important but so is the level of compensation in Year 3.
So we can look forward to more tantrums when he’s not in camp?

Folks are thinking the cap will make a big jump in 2022 based on Seattle expansion revenue and the new TV deal...

If Hargraves said Sutter was 750k too much and the term was too long, I would agree.
If Hargraves said Myers was one year too long by one year, I would agree; BUT; I doubt there was a choice there / if we wanted him.
Wow an actual adult to converse with that doesn’t drag every thread into the ditch.
That's right, you called Micky an adult!!
Time to start thinking about getting some help with that drinking problem Doyle?

Shanny isn't a gm now. Remember? It's ok. Happens to everyone.
Folks flapping about a 2022 cap increase should remember Sportsnet recently stating how much money they're losing now.
