I can only assume that Mancini was moved down to get him more game time? Also, don't think it will be too long before Chytil and Lekkerimaki are on LTIR.

Canuck roster moves announced today:

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today the following roster moves:

- F Filip Chytil and F Jonathan Lekkerimäki have been placed on injured reserve (retroactive to Oct 19).

- D Victor Mancini has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL).

- F Joseph LaBate and D Jimmy Schuldt have been recalled from Abbotsford.

- F Nils Höglander has been
placed on LTIR (retroactive to Oct 7).

The Mancini move is a bit of a head-scratcher given his deployment last game.

Who would I rather see get called up - Joe Labate or PDG? Maybe PDG was looking for a one-way contract, but I would hardly consider Labate an upgrade.

Like PoC said, I wager we'll see a fair amount of minor call-ups by numerous teams over the season. Yeah, it may come to deadline trades not necessarily for stars so much as just healthy NHL-caliber players for the playoff grind.

It'll be interesting to see how many top-tier players are available come Olympic time.

Labate is at least a center and showed pretty well at camp. PDG has merits as a winger but I guess Raty is ahead of him.

I’d just as soon see what the Abby line can do with a bit more responsibility, the chemistry is palpable. Karlsson is a devious offensive forward.

I’ve not heard of this defenceman at all. Is he to play or watch from the stands?

The league denied the Canucks a paper transaction for Mancini so he has to play at least one game in Abby.

Mancini's trip to the AHL was cap related:

Juggling the salary

Just took at look at the Canucks upcoming schedule. 4 games this week with another 3 in 4 nights. Pitts, Nashville then Montreal and Edmonton (back to back at home). Damn, that's rough. I would be happy if the Canucks go 500 in this stretch of the season.

Heading into this road trip we were 1-2, playing like shit, and going to be happy if they went 2-3 over the trip, considering the schedule. Instead, we're a lock to go at least 3-2 and are now 4-2 on the season.

WTF is going on?

According to Sportsnet’s Iain MacIntyre, Canucks GM Patrik Allvin provided the following updates on the four Canucks players:
-Both Filip Chytil and Jonathan Lekkerimäki flew back to Vancouver with Canucks medical staff for further evaluation.
-Teddy Blueger is “doubtful” to play Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
-Brock Boeser’s return from his leave of absence Tuesday in Pittsburgh is a “possibility”

A bit surprised Chytil has already flown in an airplane. Should that be a considered a 'good sign' in regards to his overall health?

I'll take all of that as 'good news' - or better than I had hoped. Having Blueger and Boeser back in time for tomorrow's game will be huge.

Aman is not a surprise. With Chytle out and Blueger doubtful for Tuesday we do need another centre. Labate can play both wing and centre as can Aman. Wilander is a surprise but with the new rules they could not paper Mancini. He has to play at least one game in the AHL before he can be recalled so Willander it is.

Canuck scouts have caught the last 2 habs games which could mean they've got their eye on someone. Kirby Dach?

Montreal is looking for a 2nd line centreman as well. Doubt they would create a hole there, by trading Dach - for a winger or defenseman.

He is just another knee injury waiting to happen anyway.
