I dunno. But, Craig Button sees him as a buyout candidate next season. I see Button as an idiot. I could see a trade, but a buyout is cap and financial suicide for the organization.
Well if he doesn’t rebound and start producing points, then he is a buyout “candidate”. However, just like many a political candidate, there are reasons why he won’t be elected.

There is an elite player under all that melancholic millennial angst. If you can unlock his giant bulbous noggin you could ride that thing to a cup with the right luck and supporting cast.

It must drive that old man fucking nuts eh!?!?!

I saw a highlight semi-breakaway to full breakaway goal from 2020 EP versus Nashville on Socialz this week.

The difference in pace was alarming.

I did not watch at all back then and haven't seen that guy play much, if ever, when I do pay full attention.

I agree Cuz, if the player from that snippet ever (somehow magically) appears the team dynamic is completely altered.

The problem is.....

It's all in his head. The beast within is sleeping like the bear deep inside of Tristan.

He's lost his mojo for some reason and getting that back is what will take this team from pretender to contender. We have all the other pieces in place

Maybe.

But the skating dynamic I saw in that clip is not the skating I see now.

Which means it may also be in his knees or spindly little legs.

We shall see, let's hope.

I think it comes from within. He hesitates over anticipates. It's like he's constantly second guessing his positioning. He looks around and you can almost see his transmission hesitating.

Reminds me of LaFlamme from Goon. Not the giving syphilis to single moms in the parking lot part, but the over thinking and playing scared part.

He played well last night and ok in Dallas. With any luck last night he has three points.

I thought last night was one of his best games in quite a while. I really wanted the shootout goal for him - let him be a difference maker for a change.

He's trending upwards. #CautiouslyOptimistic

He’s not paid $11.6M to be lucky.

But what Cornuck said, definitely his best game going back to (most of) last year.

So Chytil and Bluegar are out.

Do the Canucks take Konkatiemi off Carolina’s hands? He has been painfully bad but does have provenance and is only 25

Taj on X was suggesting Casey Middlestat.

Also, Lekkerimaki is out too.

Vancouver lost 25% of its forward group in today’s game, not sure I have ever seen that before. Also, not counting Boeser as his absence is not injury related.

Middlestat is like middling stats. I’ve been trying to will a Crosby for Willander trade into existence but my magic game is weak

Now that they are into it, the condensed schedule is really standing out. The Canucks have four more games and another back-to-back before the week is out, after just completing a really condensed three games. Bodies are going to be dropping like flies, and not just the Canucks. GMs are not going to be trading away NHL quality players cheaply, at least until the trade deadline, just so they can ice a full, decent line-up. It probably won’t be the best team that wins many nights, just the one that has stayed the healthiest. IR lists are going to be long this season around the NHL. Players and owners own greed is going to make some shit hockey this season as exhaustion will be the biggest factor many nights. They should have reduced the schedule with the Olympic break, or made this season more spread out extending it. I expect the Canucks will see a steady diet of Aman, Mueller, Kravtsov and Klimovich this season. Hopefully Manny can work miracles.
