I don't like missing the boat on Manny, but it's like The Great Bertuzzi said...

Guessing he'll get promoted to assistant maybe as soon as next year. Meantime don't think it's a bad thing for him to learn as a head coach for at least another year. He probably agrees. The dude's young, what's the rush?

He's already been an NHL assistant. No way he goes back to where he's already been. He'll coach in the AHL until he gets an opportunity.Nuckertuzzi wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 3:25 pm Guessing he'll get promoted to assistant maybe as soon as next year. We've made our choice. It's not the one I would have made, but let's hope it works out.

Perhaps, but if nothing comes up I can see him accepting another assistant role somewhere down the line, if not here elsewhere.
I honestly don't have a preference between him and Foote. Both relatively unknown gambles.

Hopefully they don't lose him.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 2:48 pm I don't like missing the boat on Manny, but it's like The Great Bertuzzi said...
I think a big part of the reason he didn't get the job is because he's doing such a good job in Abby.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it

I hope so, too, Dangler. I'm just listening to the D&D podcast right now, and it sounds like Pittsburgh is interested in hiring him now.dangler wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 4:13 pmHopefully they don't lose him.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 2:48 pm I don't like missing the boat on Manny, but it's like The Great Bertuzzi said...

This is maybe eight minutes or so into it.

Canucks will be way too defensive with Foote as head coach.
They’ll fail to outscore most teams and the team will preform miserably.
Rutherford’s master plan will only come to light when Gavin McKenna starts wearing the stinky whale next summer and Manny replaces Foote as head coach.
Foote’s only hired to drive a tank for one season.

And people will continue to attribute a lack of offence to coaching rather than a severe lack of talent. Coaches don't coach offence. They can try but will fail every time without the horses.

I agree with whoever said Foote is a gamble.
How can we possibly know how good of a head coach he will be.
Also agree with whoever said the choice of assistant coaches will be key.
Bring in some guys with lots of experience.

Don Taylor says the Vancouver media will harass Adam Foote about his son's court case.

I'm hearing Foote came in at a number that enabled the signing of Willander without waiting around for the PNE.
With the big money contract earmarked for Tocchet off the table, Mr Aquilini reportedly went up to 800K in Schedule A bonus money to get the deal done.
