Gotta like Millzy. He takes a big hit and looks like he's injured, but comes back the next period smiling and chatting with a guy like nothing happened. :D

He's built like a truck and has been super durable. *knock on wood* :)

Miller is like Curt Schilling. Just needs a ketchup sock.

Or they could score an extra goal.

On those 31 shots.....yeah for sure.

But really, Myers is a dman. He should have known way better than to go chasing the puck carrier when Miller was on him and DeBrusk also headed that way.

I agree Mëds, Myers should never see OT again. How many times do we have to see him as a major reason why the opposing team scores.

Put out 3 forwards vs him, can’t be worse.

They played hard, and did well to keep Washington at bay most of the game. They just couldn’t muster the offense to win; there wasn’t enough Quinn to go the whole game and OT.

Our blue line had a littered with Dmen who can lay the body on players, block shots and play Tocchet’s system. Outside of Hughes, Hronek and Brännström there’s no one I would trust to effectively break-out the puck or move it effectively in the offensive zone. Willander cannot arrive soon enough, regardless who management picks up at the deadline - assuming they’re buyers this year.

Lekkerimaki had some moments. Just hoped he would bury his chances. I’m not wowed, but I’m not worried about him.

A lot of games like this, this season. I’m not ready to throw the towel on this season, but it’s looking like this season has cursed the team. Hopefully management doesn’t try to go all-in again on rentals.

BTW, Dubois and McMichael should have head their faces filled-in and someone should have sent one of their stars to the room for the night. I’m sick and tired of other teams cheap-shotting our stars with impunity - I expect the league to do nothing when our stars are targeted and injured by the opposition, but our team has no deterrent.

We were missing that 103.2 mph slapper

Who skates slower….49 yo Alex Oldvechkin or 25 yo Brick Boeser? Yeah prepare yourselves for him dressing for another team next year (if he doesn’t drop the unrealistic salary expectations)

It would explain the long look Lekkerimaki is getting with Boeser and Miller. If he shows enough for management to believe he can contribute in the top-6, then I would expect Boeser to be trade bait - either at the TDD or before July 1.

As an aside, for all the folks (myself included sometimes) crabbing about the lack of shots taken by the team this season (and last season as well), they threw the kitchen sink at Thompson and had one goal to show for it. The kid has been playing well this season, but some of those shots looked like 'hope-and-a-prayer' shots for shots for the sake of it. There's a happy medium to be found, and sometimes you just have to put it on net to get a greasy goal, but I would rather they focus on creating quality shots vice shooting for the sake of shooting.

That they are unrealistic?

:look:

I know he's been solid on the walls and net front on the PP but he's next to invisible when it comes to a team that plays with pace.

Ii think the sweet spot on a flawed asset like BB would and should be in and around 5.5-6 max AAV. He's already well over that if I'm not mistaken so even resigning at the current term is unrealistic in my opinion. (If we are interested in building a stronger team as opposed to bringing back good stories and personalities that endear themselves to a fanbase)

I think it will come down to who is available July 1 that could replace him, and how much that new player might cost. If we're in a playoff spot, I imagine we'll be keeping him.

Although - considering his treatment here, a hometown discount might be in order.

I don't see him getting trade at the deadline either. It'll be negotiate til July 1 then if he won't sign for a team friendly deal: hands in the air and we tried but it didn't make sense statements in the interviews to follow

I don't mind Brick getting the Bo2Max $$$, I mind him getting the term.

Slugs don't get faster when the Windsor salt is coming for them.

Can he produce 40+ as Father Time guides his current center towards the end of his contract? Can he produce even 30+ without his current center or with the ET center? Do you want to gamble on a max or sell high (easy, Cuz) and let another team deal with the possibilities? Is gambling long-term on Jake and Brick to score the goals for $16M+/yr a good bet? Do we have any kind of real replacement in the pipeline (Letterkenny or via a trade)?

The Dude knows well my position on Boeser. If we are trading him the time to do it is before the end of the TDD. After that he is FA July 1st and won't command much of anything unless the acquiring team can speak to him before hand.

I love the guy. But He has always had is warts. He has only ever had 1 40 goal season. He has improved is 200' game immensely since his rookie season. But I can't see him being an elite year in year out 40+ guy. And that is what they need from him. His best value is to a contender at the TDD. Someone who can step into a contender and add that extra goal scoring pop.

Bo had more value simply because he is a centre. Brock has one dimension to his game, elite goal scorer. If he is not being that he isn't worth, IMHO, Bo money. Or JT money. Last year everything went right for him. This year not so much but I think this year is much more reflective of what type of production we can expect. LAst year was the anomaly.

I advocate trading him because I think the return will help us better in the long term rather than keeping him at 8+ over 6 years.

I honestly believe that if they cannot get the cap and term for him they will move him. Surely they must see we are nota contender this year????

I would think that Rutherford and Allvin can see that, but I wonder if ownership can.
