JPP does have a point though. I just looked at their team stats and Forsberg is the only one that scores even strength goals. It's really weird.

I think our goatending has been subpar tonight though just based on eye test.

Passed out cold when EP scored is my guess.

Work and wrangling kids.....found a stream in the 3rd period. Didn't love what I saw.

Nice PP goal. Great work by Hughes to bank the puck perfectly off of Pettersson's flailing stick.

Miller should sit out. For the same reasons that I bitched about Pettersson not being rested while nursing what was allegedly a knee injury, Miller should now too. Recover so you can help the team when healthy, not toil in futility and prolong recovery.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Yar, that's the killer EP40 Alien shot that disappeared from his game in the 2nd half of last season and the playoffs. Hopefully it's a sign that his game is turning around.

They have been showing this highlight reel goal that Petey scored back in like January of last season vs the Rags. EP40 was on fire that month and we swept those New York teams on the road (a franchise first I think). Anyways, Petey beats a sprawling D-man with a nice move, then makes a killer deke on the Rag's all-star netminder, then a guy kinda falls onto him in the boards. Petey gets up and looks ok, but maybe that's when it tweaked his knee and he didn't realize it at first, which lead to his funk. Let's be honest, after the all-star break, everyone could kinda see that Petey was not the same.

A few comments;

Is that another mulligan? How many do they get?

Vancouver looked like deer in headlights and Nashville treated them like they were a bull bared Mack on cruise control.

No different than the Islander's game, the opponents out worked Vancouver along the boards and disrupted the short out passes along the boards like they had read the script. Ricky is being out coached or the players have tuned him out making adjustments.

Good to see Scooter's one timer slapper from the circle on the PP still has a pulse. Hopefully it can be taken off life support. What about that flub alone in front? Definately not Mano a Mano. But who cares if he's already pocketed $2.4 million through 17 games.

Schenn > Forbert, Deharnais, Juuls, Branstrom, Soucy.

Haven't listened to Ricky's post game yet, but did he say, with a Swedish accent, "we choked?"

Miller's stat line is a flatline of zeros.

Lankinen is showing why he is a backup, the work load is getting to him and Artie hasn't been a good card carrying Party member.

Nashville has been waiting for their high priced acquisitions to wake up, the Canuck PK was their Red Bull.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

My take:

Forecheck was a positive. It was excellent all night long.

Lankinen is as Topper says—he’s a backup for a reason and while he has been good for the Canucks, he’s not a 75% load player. It will catch up. The Canucks missed the big save.

PK was bad, partly because they didn’t clear when they had a chance, partly because they weren’t aware of (or didn’t have a strategy for) where the danger was.

Soucy really struggled, even more than he has in this not-great-start season. Myers wasn’t that much better. They need to outplay Brannstrom and Juulsen but didn’t, and Brannstrom and Juulsen are not good enough for second pairing stuff.

Not sure about Miller. Undisclosed injury? There are games when he’s a force and doesn’t show up on the stat sheet; this was not that.

Liked Sherwood’s game overall, but that is a mental error to both fan the shot on the breakaway and then send the puck wildly into the slot creating the odd man situation that leads to the game tying goal. I think he was trying to bank it off the goalie but missed by a mile. Heinen and Blueger should talk to him about how to manage a blown grade A chance…..

Still need better starts….

But 5 on 5, the game was good. But it is always hard to win when you lose the goalie and special teams battles. But play that 5 on 5 game and goalies draw and special teams are even, you are going to win a lot more than you lose.

You only get one mulligan :D
Luckily this is happening early in the season, still lots of runway to get on track.
35 year old Schenn is better, even at his 3 year $2.75 aav contract, Desharnais is $2 aav. Allvin should've bucked up the extra $750K.
I expect another loss against the Rangers as Boessers out, Millers fighting something and the shines starting to tarnish on Lankinen.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it
