Yeah, that seems quite high for Lafferty. He did cool down quite a bit after a hot start when he first arrived. Tocc didn't use him much in the playoffs neither and sat out a good number of games. He'll prob get half that amount and I'd be surprised if he gets more than $1.5M.

that guy'd be lucky if he gets a contract

out of that list i think

bye lafferty

bye friedman

bye Joshua if > 3

bye Lindholm if > 6.5 (I don't think we should be paying 6.5 to play 3rd line center)

bye Mikheyev please just say goodbye
If Lindholm stays he’s going to play 2nd line minutes. He may even push Perimetersson out to the wing.

Mike Yeo leaves the Canucks. Mutual decision.

Mike provided Yeoman's service to the team.

Wasn't brought on board by Tocchet however.

Best of luck.

The Athletic's Chris Johnston Put together a top 50 UFA list for this years feeding frenzy.

Canucks making the list were Lindholm (4) Zadorov (37) and Joshua (49).

Just a little more information to help us get an idea of where these guys fit in the pecking order and what their value might be.

Can you copy and paste the list here?

Good! Too many baldies in the organization. Hopefully they hire someone with a full head of hair to replace him

It's behind a paywall Chef. I probably shouldn't go quite that far.

Of the three I want Zadorov the most. I worry about giving Joshua too much money, he can be a floater and can come across as indifferent. If there is the potential for a bad contract it’s Joshua.

Lindholms age combined with the contract he can garner to me is a bad combination regarding cap flexibility

How can anyone take seriously a list that has T.J Brodie as a higher demand player than Nikita Zadorov? Here I was thinking Brodie may be destined for PTO territory.... And is there any team out there that is thinking, Tyler Myers -- no, but that Anthony Beauvillier! (I get Myers is at that age, but his play isn't declining yet.)

I don't know that Joshua is a floater, but his skating is not good so it looks like it. Nothing to do with speed, everything to do with inability to make tight turns. He has to be on the play to be in the play. He also lacks in being "ready" both posturally and with his stick. And has the penchant to take a dumb penalty that isn't the result of being on the edge but it simply dumb (he got better at that, though, he does learn). His passing, puckhandling, penalty killing, and body positioning all improved during his time here, and he's definitely a fair amount better that the tweener he came in as. He'll make some team a little better, if its the Canucks, good. If the Canucks move on and look for the next one, fine.

Lindholm is a good player and would be a great asset to have, but I also worry about contract length. If the Canucks didn't have Miller, its one thing, but locking up a couple decent paycheck forwards in their 30s for long term is a doubles the risk. If the role is "complementary player," some flexibility is required. I don't see Lindholm thinking short term and I think the market will have long term options for him, and if I were him and his agent, I'd be looking at maximizing the total $$ figure on the contract, which means the longer the better. Especially since I think there will be interest from teams in a "win now" mode. He's not going to have to go through a rebuild to get paid.

If there's no long term market/demand for Chandler Stephenson, he's an interesting 2-3 year acquisition for a similar role; Monahan would be worth a look, too, if the term was measured.

Yup, Brodie is done like dinner.

And Zads will clearly get $5M+ from someone.

Very poor article, I agree.

(I do appreciate you posting it though Megs)

WOW, such a great assessment of Joshua!

Agreed, there is a huge demand for top-6 centres this off-season.

Should be a bidding war for a guy like Lindy.

Boston amd Columbus are just a couple of the teams willing to go to at least $7M x 7 in my opinon.

And of course if we know this, so does Lindholm's camp.

I like both these players, but again, they're gonna get lots of money + term in the marketplace IMO.

Maybe it's best to just re-sign Blueger today at $2.5M-ish.

Lindhholm will not get less than $7 million per year. I could see a team forking $8 million per year with term for him. If you’re a team with pour centre depth with lots of cap room would you not? I would, but centre ice isn’t our problem and cap is.
