I took a bus ride across that wretched land back in the day that I'll never forget.

Every town was the same and that fucking bus stopped at every one of them.

Luckily I had a few reefers and a coupla packs of smokes, but still.

Twas minus 30-something and when I reached Edmonton I snuck into the Edmonton Plaza Hotel that night.

Well not 'snuck' really, I said "Hi" to the chick at the front desk and got in the elevator.

Straight to the roof where the sauna and outdoor rooftop pool awaited.

I spent at least an hour in that pool, had it all to myself with the steam going up and the snow coming down.

But yeah, up to that point this 17-year-old city boy had never seen minus-30 or farms.

I think that UFO landing pad is the reason I took my first acid trip...
