Lawmaker Shin Kyoung-min says the National Intelligence Service told a closed-door parliamentary committee Wednesday that People's Armed Forces Minister Hyon Yong Chol was executed in Pyongyang in late April.

The intelligence service told lawmakers that Hyon was killed by an anti-aircraft gun.

Went for a 20+km bike ride on the TransCanada Trail with my wife and son and another family. It was too much for the munchkins as the trail was several inches deep in sand in places, covered in angular cobbles in others. The kids don't have the strength for that yet.

At the first kid's struggling breakdown there was a patch of wild strawberries that got everyone's spirits back. My wife ended up sprinting ahead home and got her car and the rest of us cajoled the kids to a road crossing and then down a logging road, most of it walking, to a main road where we met my wife with her car. Loaded up the kids in the car for a trip to ice cream sandwiches while the rest of us cycled home. My wife had a chicken on the grill, salsa fresca made and tortillas on the comal when we got there.

We stopped for a couple of bottles of wine on the trip back to retrieve our trucks from our starting point, and dinner was ready when we got back to our place.

A great day.

Just my kids and I yesterday for dinner + movie.
