Their backup must be sorely Lacking. Wonder if you can get a 3rd rounder for him?

signing Ward allows them to protect Lack
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I haven't been keeping right up on the expansion rules and regs, but could this be Carolina setting themselves up to have their ass covered as far as protected/unprotected goalies go, as much as anything? They can see if Lack gets it together this season and then decide which goalie they make available for expansion.Hank wrote:2 more years of Cam Ward?! Genius. <EDIT> Never mind. should have refreshed the page. Topper beat me to it.

Hawks more than just the cap to manage this season but also the bonus overage.
"The Blackhawks also have to take into account their salary cap overage from the 2015-16 season: $3.07 million, according to Blackhawks assistant general manager"

Hearing Hamhuis' rights will be dealt. DAL/ARI/BOS interested.

So Benning is even more genius for his foresight on expansion with the Sbisa & Dorsett signings?

I can't see an expansion team being interested in either of those guys.Hank wrote:So Benning is even more genius for his foresight on expansion with the Sbisa & Dorsett signings?

If he gets permission to talk maybe a second coming back. Otherwise a 5th or 6th.

Goligoski went to the desert for a 5th in 2016. Hamhius could fetch a 3rd I would think.

As bad as Ward has been and he's been bad for quite awhile, he still outplayed the grinning fool and kept his starter's job. Even Team Sweden doesn't think too highly of the Joker. Is he still even worth a 3rd?
Perhaps the Canes are just buying some time to replace both of them.

Arizona trades a 5th round pick to Dallas for the rights to Alex Goligoski. Hamhuis' rights (if he waives - why wouldn't he at this stage) probably go for the same.Hockey Widow wrote:givemeda411 wrote:Hearing Hamhuis' rights will be dealt. DAL/ARI/BOS interested.
