The rioting is a godsend for Trump, which is course also why he is fanning the flames*...

He only has 4% of the black vote, so he can afford to ignore that segment and just aim to win back the moderate conservatives that were leaning toward Biden.

It's tougher for Biden who needs the minority votes but also has to win back the blue collar conservatives that voted for Trump in 2016.
He has to balance a tight rope, being understanding to the BLM movement while condemning the riots. It's a much trickier task.

The quotes from Harris in that clip are a bit awkward, but kinda out of context.

She is a former prosecutor who has a record of being very tough on crime, in fact so tough that she has some problems with that among certain black voters. Thus she has seen a need to show that she supports the BLM movement, and I guess she got a little too enthusiastic in that clip they repeated a zillion times, interspersed with footage from rioting and looting. Of course she doesn't support riots.

But as I said before, it's a tricky thing walking that tight rope, showing support for the peaceful protesters while condemning the riots.

Harry Belafonte has criticised a White House official who shared a manipulated video using footage from a former interview he gave.

New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman shared comments by the singer and civil rights activist on Monday, the day after the clip was posted by Dan Scavino, the White House deputy chief of staff for communications, on his personal Twitter account.

The clip falsely makes it appear as though Joe Biden fell asleep during a TV interview.

It was still up on Scavino’s personal Twitter page, on which he has more than 900,000 followers, at the time of this story being published. Twitter has flagged it as containing “manipulated media”.

The person actually featured in the original and real clip is Belafonte, not Biden.
