I've found that leaning all of my political opinions to the exact opposite of whatever Per thinks is the most accurate way to interpret and form opinions on current affairs.

This way i can grab all the latest headlines right out of Creepers B&G without having to subject myself to the mainstream media sources

In my experience, using military to crush opposition is typical of dictatorships and generally frowned upon in democracies.
The purpose of the military is to protect and guarantee the security of the citizens of the country they serve.
They are not meant as a tool to infringe on their first amendment rights.

That’s also why the Posse Comitatus Act was passed in 1878; to prevent the use of military within the USA by the federal government. Upholding the law is mainly a matter for the states.

But Trump is not interested in having a conversation with the protesters. He just wants to crush them.

Compare this to former republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who participated in a BLM march to show his support.

I fully agree with you. However I think it's a good thing to have the bullets in reserve to keep the ballot winners honest.

It's pretty specific what he's saying. It's not just to crush protesters. It's to crush protesters who are destroying property at random and endangering the lives of others with their actions.

If these were peaceful protests then it's a different story.

Politics is no longer about uniting the people. Hasn't been for years.

You subscribe to Mattis' view that Trump's actions are a deliberate effort to divide the country and comport himself immaturely. Did it occur to you that his deliberate effort is not to divide the people but to shine a spotlight on how divided the two parties already are and exploit the closed minded intolerant hate that political leftist leaders have for anyone who doesn't agree wholeheartedly with their platform?

I mean, which of the parties goes out of their way the most to assassinate the character of the opposition? Trump is flippant and casual in his remarks most of the time. His chief opponents spew vitriol left and right.

And tell me Per, who is the more intolerant, the one who disagrees with something or someone on personal ethical or moral grounds yet is willing to let said something or someone do their own thing at their own cost and consequence, or the one who disagrees with something or someone on personal ethical or moral grounds and wants that something or someone painted as an enemy of freedom and progress for not agreeing with their position?
