So many great times at the Commodore, truly a special place.
Favourite show was likely DOA, Dead Kennedys and Toxic Reasons - many Ramones shows, Cramps. Ah....
More mainstream, George Thorogood, Dire Straits, come to mind.

Who knew Corn was into punk? Nice. Only caught a couple shows at the Commodore and only in recent years. I would have loved to have seen that Clash show in '79, but I'm not sure I could've sneaked in at 18 let alone 11!
Did you ever see No Means No, Corn? Wright brothers... awesome players.

Saw NMN a few times, and their alter-ego the Hanson Brothers many times. All great shows.

The wifey and I are seeing this band March 21st at the Orpheum. In my opinion the best American band over the last 20 years.

Lucinda Williams. The Replacements
There was also a club in Gastown near the Woodward's parkade, can't remember the name.
Joe Ely
All good music, Topper. That’s my alley
Are you thinking of the Town Pump?

One of the great watering holes downtown.I saw tons of my favorites there. Last one was Nick Lowe I think. Would have been around 1994 or so.

Joe Ely recorded this live album while on tour with the Clash in England which must have been an interesting tour.

Since mambo is a proven mood enhancer maybe Travis Green could consider listening to a few choice selections from, say, Yma Sumac's Mambo! lp before walking out to meet the press

By myself I wouldn't... have no boss.
But I'd be raisin' my lonely Dental Floss
(in Michael Clarke Duncan's voice)
Sorry but this song is stuck in my head now and I blame this thread.
