It isn't worth it.

Spend the dough on a higher end 2 stage gas furnace. (Daikin, Lennox, etc)

Unless you love throwing BC hydro wads of cash of course. Heat pumps suck power like an AC running full time. Many, many, MANY customers I've followed up with after dumping 20-30k on a system have massive regrets

Thanks, just got an email from the company that did my AC a few years ago. Everything is currently working so I don’t feel the need to upgrade.

The email said with all the rebates I can almost get it installed for free. Not that believe any of that.

If you want an honest assessment, hire a smaller local outfit to come perform maintenance and ask the tech his opinions.
