I would be pissed if I was an Oiler's fan. Good 3rd period by the nucks. Made it fun no matter the outcome.

"best team in Canada" versus last place team in the league. After 2 games ... 1 goal difference.

Crazy game. The Canucks made a game of it in the 3rd but not good enough. Can’t play a 20 minute game. Good game for stats unless you are a goalie. Can’t wait for the Manny spin.

So, who do the oil start in their next game?
I would expect the new guy for Vancouver.

Nice to see that the boyz had the fight and offensive punch to battle back, albeit on some suspect goaltending again. Yah, Coach Manny should have pulled Tankinen earlier. It was pretty clear KL32 was frazzled and wouldn't have stopped a beach ball by that point. Would it have made a difference? Prob not, but u never know.

Early feeling is this will be pluckier bunch than last year who won't give up as easily this year. But it's easy to say that after a couple of games they put a bunch of pucks in the net relatively easily. Wait till they face some real goaltending and let's see if that doesn't demoralize them quickly.
Play wise, let's be honest, it's pretty awful. Rebuild should not be in jeopardy. Even better if they can make every game chaotic fun to watch. Entertaining losses would make for a successful season for me.

What a wild game last night. They should have pulled Lankinen after the first, definitely should have at 6-2. I don’t blame him for the loss, the oil were on a mission but just to ‘reset’ the game.
Lastly, man the oil need to find a goalie. F Andersen won’t be the answer either.

I'll admit I switched-off when it was 5-0. To see them get as close as two goals behind and keep fighting was what I hope to see the rest of the way. They're gonna lose a lot of games, but as long as they don't give up on any games. We'll see how long that spirit lasts this season. If Manny can keep their fight and drive up past Christmas, that will be encouraging. Some flukey goals, but the Boeser and Pettersson goals were vintage teases of what once was.
Edmonton will take the win, but Oil Country can't be comfortable with the last two games. Oiler fans' anxiety during the McJesus era is one of the things that makes the sun shine brighter.

Negatives - Gallagher looks done. They should have gotten a high draft pick to take his salary. Hopefully he is doing great work in the room.
How long can DeBrusk stay in the top six. He’s the only nearly invisible guy on the team. Hard to see anyone trading for him. Helps the Tank though. Lankinen should have been pulled earlier. He was overwhelmed (along with everyone else).
The top young defencemen on the Canucks to a man have a lot to learn in their own zone, but that is what this season is all about.
Remember Zeev isn’t being paid nine million a year until next season, so he gets a gimme this season to learn all he can.
Still, from the almost shutting it off point at the end of the second period, through the exciting third, it became a very fun game to watch.
Loving the Oiler’s goalies and defence!
