Keep Boeser, it seems like he wants to stay. Trade DeBrusk.

Boeser and Debrusk figured it out.
Boeser got back on track once the stress of the trade deadline was past. As long as he doesn't have any drama over the summer, he should be good to go next season.
Debruck? Who knows - hot and cold, and right now the PP is hot.

Boeser can't go through a season without some form of personal drama that hampers his "flow"....

Blueger should be re-signed.

I hope we re-sign Blueger. I mean as long as it isn't Sherwood type deal.
I heard a comment that I liked (during the game?) :
If the Canucks don't sign Blueger, they need to sign someone
like Bluegar, so they might as well re-sign the guy they already know fits.

I don’t see Douglas as a natural fighter. Just a big man who holds on. Nice he got his first goal, tho
Same here. But kudos for doing what he needs to do to stay in the NHL.
I saw a lot of him in the AHL, and he's no fighter.
As long as the heart and the will are there, the skill can be taught.
(theoretically, if the management group managed to think of it)
I think you were one of the few posters to agree with me on that point, Megs.

Boeser is one of the few member of the old guard I wouldn't mind seeing the Canucks hang on to through the early part of the re-build.
That said, if the offer is attractive, I don't see a driving need to keep him, either.

I think so, RG.
As Blades pointed out, his grappling game is already pretty advanced. If he can tie up and get the takedown, he can eke out a living that way without getting hurt too badly.

If he can actually get proficient with the takedowns, he can achieve the kind of fighting result that might actually act as a deterrent. Ice is hard, big men fall a long way, and another big man landing on you at the same time compounds the effect.
It won't fire up the bench the way a thorough pummelling would, and it won't win him the "heavyweight champion of the League" title belt, but long term, I bet a few cracked or broken ribs do more to tell the predators of the league to lay off the Canucks young stars than another black eye, broken nose, or missing chicklet.

I do not see Douglas here long term.
Homey FA don't play that.

We do need someone who can take a regular shift on the fourth line and thrown down, tho.

Dougie sure looked better than our "1C" in this game.
