If they could somehow pry Olivier out of Columbus.

McKenna - EP40 - Thug

Wouldn't mind that line at all.
I can't see the brain trust going there myself. Meaty can handle the rough stuff.

Pulling the goalie while killing a penalty.

Very Canuckian.

There was a lot at stake tonight Carl. Footer had to throw caution to the wind :)

Finding a bottom 6 winger thug who can play every night is a must this team.
That's one of the great things about a re-build (if they actually do one): it doesn't matter whether or not your thugs can actually play hockey, so long as they condition the rest of the League to understand that they will enjoy a game* with Vancouver a lot more if they don't start any rough stuff. For the next 2 years, I'd want at least one fear-inspiring goon on every line. Don't start anything, but all retaliations go thermonuclear.
("He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.")

If the plans works, it might once again be a sensible plan for the Canucks to take small, skilled players at the draft.

I'm all in RG, unfortunately, Geezer and Robo like their teams ultra soft though.

It's one of the main reasons I can really dig into this tank. I fuckin' hate those guys.

Yep, EP40 standing up and pitching in exactly when the team needed him to.

Wot a leader.

How much rope are we going this guy.

Jesus.

You mean giving?

He is still paid too much, wont argue that. Just I think he has turned a corner and is becoming close to becoming that 1C again.

Edit:

I will add, if a team offers up 3 solid assets (top F prospect, decent top 6 forward and a first for Petey with no or minimal salary retention, I would still trade him)

If the Canucks were offered a top prospect (at any position) and a first with no salary retention, I'd be disappointed if they didn't take it.

I'm glad he's improved lately (increasing his potential trade value), but as I have written elsewhere, I think that long term, he will have trouble earning that contract.

Admittedly, the equation may change of the Canucks do acquire an elite winger who meshes well with EP40. But I don't think it's wise to hang onto him on the chance that kind of chemistry develops.

Yeah, honestly... we have three core left. EP, Demko, Brock.

If they are fully committed to the tank (as they should be) and everyone expects it to be rough sailing for the next few years at least, if the rebuild is done properly... what in Jeebus is the point of trying to pump up the milk carton kid?

By the time this team is truly in a contention window again, Scoots will be well past 1C expiry date. To even call him 1C now is just a cope.

Everything should be done to restart with a clean slate. Be kind to these guys and cut the cord.

Aw, it's Mr. Burns. Kill it!

Kill it with fire. There's nothing more left to do.

I thought BB was slow because he was sad about his father but nope...he's just a low energy, low intensity dude who sometimes scores goals (but usually not lo)

Pettersson, when he does anything other than stand there and wave his stick at pucks/people skating circles around him: look he's almost back and will bring back 3 assets! Nope! If anyone takes him on the return is any cap space you send out and gain.
Honestly, you can pay find a replacement level center off of waivers and they'll be a better 1C than twiggy
