Who will beat him?
Sanders, Biden, Warren, Bloomberg?
You've got to be joking. How will the Democratic party enthuse and mobilize the inner city support that got Obama elected to come out and vote for any of those candidates?

That’s easy, everyone left out of Trumps platform, namely women, African American, Latino and new Americans.
Throw in the youth who have been priced out of trumps America and all those not covered by healthcare and have no access to post secondary education.
Throw in the gay vote approx 10% of the vote and that’s a lot of gerrymandering and vote suppression and college of voters manipulation to get trump back into the White House
And now, after 75% of the public didn’t get to see the witnesses they wanted to see in the senate cover up.
It’s going to be that much harder to convince the public that the Cheeto Christ isn’t lying through his teeth

It's over.
Article II, Obstruction of Congress, was never going anywhere. I'm guessing it was thrown in the mix to allow a few Senators the conscience and vote saving of voting against one Article while endorsing another. Extending Executive Privilege to deny testimony and release of documents is a well documented precedent.
Congress should have done what has been done in the past when a President invokes Executive Privilege, challenge the matter in Court and have the matter resolved. Choosing not to go that route damaged their case. Their reasoning that "time was in the essence" was made a mockery by Pelosi sitting on the Articles for three weeks.
At the end of the day, some moderate Republican Senators were so struck by this Article, they rightly deemed the whole process a charade.
Article I, Abuse of Power, was so nebulous and ill defined Republicans had no problem driving a truck through through the weak argument. There was no crime as defined in law. There was no quid pro quo. All the evidence heard was hearsay and much of that, partisan hearsay. Going back to the failure to secure Court rulings on subpoenas, those who may have had 1st hand knowledge were never heard of.
Congress failed miserably with a highly partisan slipshod inquiry and framing of the Articles. Instead they asked the Senate to complete the not even half finished inquiry that Congress was responsible for. Rightfully, the Senate was insulted by the incompetent actions of Congress.
....and then Democratic Presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren fired the final salvo to torpedo the process when she suggested the Chief Justice of The Supreme Court may have political bias. Did she do so to quickly end a doomed effort so she may get back out on the campaign trail?
