Hey, I get it. I was driving down King George Hwy and honking my horn when we signed undrafted, over-age local kid after he won the WHL scoring title.
Woohoo! Celebrating wildly.

Oilers dropped some salary picking up Matthew Savoie from Buffalo for Ryan McLeod and some prospect.
Savoie is looking like a solid bust at this point. He went a round or two too high.

Why did the Oilers sign Perry to an FA deal? Sure he is one of the few guys they have with snarl, but they can't be thinking he fills in for LTIR Kane?
One of the more puzzling moves on July 1.

Meh, 39-yr-old Perry is being paid like a 4th liner... which is where he'll no doubt play.
Unless he's buried, and interestingly, his salary is exactly the same as the bury-able amount.
Send him down (on paper) at some point to save a little cap and bring him back for the playoffs?

I think I'd enjoy watching him on an AHL tour next year.
That'd be fun.

If they try to bury him I hope the Canucks claim him lol. Then flip him for a 7th to a contender in the east looking for depth.

Looks like some of this year's first round has signed today including Celebrini. So much for heading back to BU to play with his brother for one more year. Number two pick Levshunov signed as well.

Without Celebrini to play with at Boston University, does Willander have second thoughts and sign a pro contract and start next season in Abbotsford?

Mack is built like Crosby. What a well rounded player and good kid. He's going to be a beauty of a player. They better get a couple of thugs to protect he and Will Smith.
I'm curious how Mike Grier does there as a manger. I like some of his moves/picks. Anaheim is another team to watch. Both could be teams to watch by 2026.

Would be asinine. Let him dominate that level. BU is still going to have a solid team. Give him a taste in April.

I don't think so PoC. At least I hope not. One and done in college is a traditional path to struggle for all but the most exceptional of players.
They have a firm two year plan for Willander at BU. Jay Pandolfo has talked about it publicly.

Probably April but maybe he feels he is ready. Don’t think he’ll ever dominate offensively. They compare him to Dan Hamhuis. He’s already a great skater who doesn’t make many mistakes defensively, smart, always in the right position. He’ll get some points, but probably not a defensemen that will be sent out with the first PP unit.

When the team already has the likes of Hughes and Hronek, they don’t need another blue liner to send over the boards on the 1st PP unit. Having a younger version of Hamhuis on the roster on an ELC is how championship teams are made. Not everyone has to be a Hughes or Hronek.
