You didn't wave?

Not me in the truck of course, there's a couple in town these days. They truly are uglier in person however. So many better options imo!

I know of at least one.

As does Luke Schenn apparently....

Yeah even more if you go petrol!

I was even just thinking e-trucks, which I don’t fully see the value in period. But the Lightening and the new GMC version are far more appealing.

Maybe Luke should go electric, then he won’t get caught putting 91 in his Merc.

Anyone else use Postimamage for uploading pics? Getting a "suspected phishing site" warning and if I proceed I get a 403 error code.

Quantum computing coming in a few years?
To demonstrate, researchers performed a benchmark calculation using Willow in about five minutes. In contrast, a supercomputer would take 714 trillion times longer than the age of the universe, which is about 14 billion years old, to perform the same computation. Researchers will now work to scale up multiple logical qubits connected together.

I hope not. If it works and becomes accessible to bad actors, my understanding is that any encryption can be broken using brute force methods and we'll be back to waiting in line at the bank instead of using the internet.

Valid point, but there's 3 or 4 new encryption methods approved for the 'post-quantum' world. Seems like the next arms race is upon us. Quantum computing and AI will be a fun combo ;) I'll assume that quantum computers will be as readily available as supercomputers are now, and we'll keep plugging along on our phones and PCs.

The pace of progress is incredible. It's making me feel old but at least I don't yet need to ask my kids for computer help.

Back in the day, it was almost fun to see what new features new tech had, try it out, etc - now I'm on a strictly need-to-know basis. But.... and I am exploring AI a bit more.

Yeah me as well. I use AI as a search engine more than Google now, but I'm trying to broaden my use. At this moment I've got an AI listening to an investor call to transcribe and summarise it. I should then be able to interrogate the AI to zoom in on certain details. The call is at least 4 hours long; I don't have time for that, so if it works it will be a massive timesaver for me.

I assume you're more into the image-generation AI capabilities?

Not so much images, but more for marketing and product descriptions and that end of things. I've used it lately to write some code, which was very handy.
