With his health, trading tanev for a 1st would be a fleecing, if they close the deal in the brief preseason window when he is totally healthy.
I like Tan-mans game but he really is made of glass. Hes like SLJ in Unbreakable... He goes UFA next summer i think so lets move him out and max the return. He gets replaced by Barrie next summer anyway
I’d take Barry for Myers aav and term, I don’t think he’s worth the 8 million he wants.
I watched the Avs playoff run pretty closely last year and TB is an exceptional skater and puck mover. He would be our best Dman the second he threw on the jersey IMO.
Ya 8 a year sucks but he comes without giving up an asset. I think if the rumours are true we have to find the money for him

Stetcher plus Tanev basically gets you the cap space for Barrie + Rafferty/whoever.
But we'll see, playing defence for the leaves doesn't really drive up a player's UFA value

So 28 still on the 1st!
Sure by the end of it he'll be 35 or 36 depending on if its a 6 or 7 year deal but those are prime years for an NHL dman.
Importing a true #1 50+ point right side dman who can fly and run a powerplay? Ya...you go all in on that one

To a lesser extent. They’ll keep Sutter until Gaudette shoves him out the door. There’s nobody breathing down Tanev’s neck and there’s nobody in the organization that can do what a healthy Tanev does.
But for the opening part of the year I’d keep Sutter. He’s overpaid but he’s not a shitty player if he’s healthy.
