I'm sure Auston Matthews can sign with more than a few US-based teams other than AZ, when the time comes to get away from all you Tarana Make Belief idjits.

Matthews definitely seems like a sign-a-$16M-offer-sheet-this-summer kinda guy! Image

5 years prior to LeBron joining, Cavs averaged 13,600 attendance annually.
for the next 5 years after LeBron joining averaged 19,200 annually.

Bettman will getr done. :p
LOL @ comparing the NHL in Arizona to NBA.

You are setting a precedent for idiotic contract demands to follow if you are having to give a Nylander what he so undeservedly wants. It’s a contract that would have a dangerously cataclysmic fallout for every contract negotiation after
Arizona should get him, so they got a buddy for Matthews when they get him in 5 years.
You know damn well Matthews is going to pull a Tavares and go home
Arizona better be a cup contender by then because Tavares would have not even met with the Leaves if they had Arizona's record.
Arizona is a .500 team right now.

Some of their younger players are actually starting to make a bit of noise. Toronto has gone from being a perennial bottom 10 team to a labeled Cup contender in just 3 seasons. There is no reason that Arizona can't do the same thing.

While Toronto has drafted well over the last 4 years, if Chayka can pull his head out of his ass and quit going off the board, into Mike Gillis territory, (just for you RD) with his picks, the Coyotes could be a team that go from playoff probable to possible contender with the addition of just Matthews.

I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but you're fooling yourself if you think that just because he gave JT his word, or just because the COTU has a team that looks like a deep playoff team on paper, means that an elite player would rather stay there than go home and play hockey for millions of dollars in a city where he has family and friends AND where he doesn't have to drive to work every day dealing with ice storms, blizzards, freezing rain, and all the other wonders that come with living along the Great Lakes from November to April.....you know 71% of his working season.
Arizona likely won't be there when Matthews is UFA.
Good luck doing what Toronto did. Toronto has the highest operational budget in the NHL. Arizona is dead-last. There is no SHanahan, Babcock ready to go there.
Wipe the sweat from your forehead, Tuna. Life will go in Toronto, without Matthews. Every team goes through this, the Islanders just experienced it with Tavares. The sooner you accept that Mathews will - make damn surer his next contract that will take him to UFA, that he will be mid to late twenties like Tavares. He wants to play back home. The Coyotes are not moving and every team plays by the same cap rules. Don’t be so greedy, you have at least 6 more years of Matthews, 8 max.
You go back to fantasizing about 8 years from now in Toronto we worry about cups.
Tavares left because he could not win. That's not Auston's issue, is it?

First worry about winning a round. Baby steps.

BigTuna wrote: Sat Nov 24, 2018 7:08 pm Tavares left because he could not win.
Yes then he remembered those who cannot win belong in Toronto.

It will take a thousand of years to fix that embarrassing D core, unless they man up and do a Taylor Hall for a Adam Larsson type a deal, but they lack the balls so it looks like the Leaves are about to embark on what looks like a long painful journey of shitty D and shitty goaltending. Good luck with that

The leaves have won the Nylander saga – which is bad news for the haters.

Paranoid fucking Leaf fluffers...

Also, you never win in the long run when you go to war with one of your players.

War, what is it good for.

So Dick,

Hope it’s ok to call you that. Look no further than Washington to understand that regular season means squat once playoffs start. You will do your famous disappearing act come round 1 once again.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
