Mike is a devoted canuck. Hes waiting by the phone near UVIC...patiently...waiting for aquas to fire up the throat goyter symbol spotlight into the sky.
He'll arrive well rested with a cup of coffee and some chin grease
He’s planning his next move with the help of Gallagher and Sekeres.

Jake isn’t mean at all. That’s not his game. Best we can hope for at this point is s hybrid of Dustin Brown/David Booth
The comparison starts out really well, then crashes mightily.
One of my favourite Gillis moments, was how he scouted David Booth. He asked his ex Panther mate Higgins and his US hockey mate Kesler “hey Ryan, Chris what’s David Booth like!”
Kesler actually didn't like Booth. We wanted them to get him a linemate but that wasn't what he had in mind.
He knew he'd have to carry him.
It was like the beginning of the end.

I am not sure the rest of the Canucks like that big mouth. I rather have Boeser + Tanev.

I believe Boeser will sign a 3-4 year bridge or an 8 year one.
Just spitballin' - besides Laine - would any of you consider a blockbuster deal Boeser++ for Marner? sign him to $11.65M per x 8.
Leaves likely sign Boeser 8 years x $7.75M/$8M ish.
Both Laine and Boeser are weak defensively, just Boeser is a bit better at passing/playmaking, where Laine has the better shot and they both snipers.
But imagine what Mitch Marner and Petey could do on the ice!?! We're talking some mega scoring records here, probably obliterate the Sedins scoring records in quick fashion. This would be an insanity duo.
Marner to me is a better all-round player than Laine/Boeser, as Marner is above average defensively, even getting penalty kill time, he's more an elite playmaker on wing who'll top out as a 40 goal scorer 75-80 assist type, he'd make the already dangerous Petey into a powerhouse monster scoring machine, along with both being great two-way types.
While these guys top out at Boeser 40 goal scorer/40 assists, Laine 50 goal scorer/30 assists.

Package JV up + for Risto.
Might as well go have a full-ammo defense.
Hughes-Risto-Stech-Edler-Myers - that's a lot of weapons on D that the team hasn't had in years.
Edler-Risto
Hughes-Myers
Benn-Stecher

I dunno. I'm not a big fan of Marner, but I gotta be honest in saying that I haven't really ever watched him play. I'm sure he's uber skilled, but I tend to not really care about guys a bit on the small side.

Tanev/stetcher would have to be involved as well. I’d look at virtanen and tanev for risto, tanev could help dahlin out. Risto with benn, or edler could work nicely. Would also throw a pick in if they take eriksson, but we’d probably have to take back okposo.

So, seeing how Toronto fucked the cap system over with no consequences from the theatre, I think a 'cap floor team should trade us Erickson for a 3rd and a 4th round pick. We then trade the 3rd (or 4th) back to them and they retain 3 million salary.. the 'already paid' part of the salary.
They get 3 million of 'cap' for a 3rd and no actual dollars from Thier owner, we get 3 million of cap relief.
