Apparently there is not much difference after the 2nd pick (Kakko and Hughes) between 3rd ranked Players and 12th ranked. I see no urgency to get in the top 6 or 7 with this class. Players picked between 10 and 15 could easily be as good as players picked between 3rd and 8th

Hughes will be more electric, but Kakko should be more all around dynamic a power like scoring forward and Kakko is what like 6'2 - almost 200lbs already has the NHL power size.
It's a pretty deep draft this year, no matter where we pick a good player should be avail.
If the team expects to contend in a few years this is pivotal draft to add that extra talented piece, team just needs that difference maker to add to Petey, Boeser and Horvat up front. Need like 5 all-star players up front and a couple stars on D to be true contenders.

There is a difference Dude and you know in it...in two to three years we will now what that difference was, for now we can all be armchair GM's and try and pick it apart thats why we get paid the big bucks to give our opinions on this forum so the Canuck Brass has a better chance sorting through this stuff.
I love this draft as I am more familiar with the North American players than any draft I have watched in the past. I have watched these kids for past 9 years all over North America at top Spring tournaments develop and grow and seen them cut their teeth as 15,16 and 17 year olds in the CHL, US NDP Program and some high schools in the USA.
I first saw Byram at the Provincials at UBC in Pee Wee. His Cranbrook team had been playing in the Alberta league all season and he wasn't a big Spring hockey player so we had not seen him prior. He dragged his team into the finals to play against a stacked BWC team with players like Sasha Mutala (Tri-Cities, Mass Rizzo (Capt of Vees) - (Arsh Bains - Red Deer) and many other studs that have NCAA commitments and playin the CHL. Byram just took over as d-man that skated everywhere and was constantly behind the net in the offensive zone and first on the back check. It was shocking seeing his advance play at such a young age. Currently with the Giants he is on a absolute tear. I don't think we will have any chance of drafting him.
Give it up for the G-men knocking off the Countries top team last night!

Yeah Byram is really impressing me now too bad he’s a lefty. Krebs is climbing the ranks of late to mid top 10 on scouts lists, really like his skill, tenacity and motor. Don’t like Dachs skating, like Cozens a lot, think he’s capable of playing the wing. Americans Zegras C and Boldy Winger are interesting. Canucks should be getting a player between 8th and 15th

It doesn’t mattter if Byram is lh or not, he’s a fucking excellent player. Who knows if Juolevi and Hughes will even turn out or what they’ll turn out to be.

Right now he’s an excellent player in a strong draft. Nothing is a guarantee with young kids. Where did I say Byram was guaranteed? Oh right I didn’t. Take BPA regardless if they shoot left or right.
