That's because Andersen performs well in the regular season (sucks in the post season).

Holtby is the opposite.

And don't forget their 2 best penalty-killing dmen were Polak and Hainsey.

Polak is gonzo with no replacement, and Hainsey succumbed to old age as the season wore on.

Also gone is their best penalty-killing forward Komarov (played centre on their #1 PK unit).

Meanwhile Tampa should be better defensively with a full year of McDonagh

... and Hedman having come into his own defensively down the stretch.

(most folks also expect young Vasilevskiy to continue improving)

Leaves neglecting the defensive side of the game will continue to be their downfall.

Komorov was actually terrible last year and was not good defensively. Bozak and JVR were their 2 weakest defenders upfront and they are goners. But only their offensive totals will be spun into a negative.

The leaves did not give up a lot of goals last season. 3rd lowest in the EAst.

Only the leaves could sign the biggest UFA in the entire NHL in at leat a dozen years and a 4th line plug who got 19 points is who they will really miss.
Johnsson is better overall esaily than Komorov. Babcock agrees. Leo was a healthy scratch.
