Tread carefully if acquiring Rossi, there is a reason why they are trading him. But if the goal is to become the softest team in the league then by all means.
He's not exactly soft. He short.

More evidence of poor planning from management (via Twitter)
‘The Canucks are already beginning to consider pivot options and work out contingency plans with the way the market is shaping up. Though trades could still provide the sorts of upgrades required, they're also prepared to make peace with the notion of utilizing Filip Chytil as their second-line centre next
season’
Rumors abound that they are circling back to Suter. Expect them to overpay Suter to save face. The middle or the ice will be a tire fire if Chytil rattles the noggin and Petey continues with his garbage play. Close your eyes and cross your fingers.

Well if we're crossing fingers I'm putting hope in Raty, Sasson & Karlsson taking another step up next season. If they are seriously thinking about running with Chytill they better have some depth ready to go.

They definitely need a back up plan for Chytil. He’s fragile

Even if Chytl is healthy, his peak strikes me as the kind of second line centers teams who don't make the playoffs have. Which isn't to say you can't win with that, but it is to say its going to be a deficit you have to make up for elsewhere.

There was also some hope that if they could upgrade at centre that they could convert Chytl to LW. Some thought that he would be better suited there and along with DeBrusk would give them a good top six at LW.

Not sure Chytil’s noggin can handle what is required of a winger but I could be wrong

Anyone looking at Rossi would be well served to remember that he has racked up a bunch of his points playing with Kaprizov.
Rossi seems to be a quick and shifty player, in the same vein as Garland but, imho, stronger on the puck and with a better shot. But can he drive a line as “the guy”?

Beginning to pivot???........
Wasn't there discussion on this board a few days ago that given supply and demand it would make sense to take a step back and look for collateral damage deals?...If some of us recognized it surely you don't think its just dawned on management?...
And lets call a spade a spade, most of the available free agents are just JAG's and the question management is likely asking is given the $ cost or asset cost how much of an upgrade are any of them over the kids in Abbotsford?...
It might become a tire fire if Chytil or any of their centres miss considerable time, but the good news is that's the case with all but a very small number of teams...
As always, health is the key ...
Take care...

Victor Mancini is having an awful Calder Cup final, just to let everyone know. He just coughed it up under pressure for the first goal of the game tonight. He is absolutely torching his value in this series.
Kudryavtsev, meanwhile, has been maybe their best defenseman in the series. They have essentially swapped spots in the pecking order.
