11 wins in a row, and now tied with the Caps for most goals scores (granted one more game played), and best in the league in goals against.

Who had the Jets or Caps with the President's trophy?
What young assets do the Jets have that the Canucks could get from them for helping to solidify their roster in a playoff run?

Jets appear to have a tone of cap space and most of their picks to offer up.

Thinking, something like Boeser for their 1st???? Boeser does have a 10 team NTL, likely hood that Winnipeg is on it?

While the big club is full of max achievers, their players in the system are largely having down years. There are a few "broken" prospects, like Lambert and Lucius. I assume they are hanging on to Yaeger. Apparently Barlow is on the market, and he's definitely intriguing. But I'm not sure what to make of a guy with declining OHL production on a stacked team.

Would he wave for a good chance at a Cup?

And to a team close to his home? I could see it. This could be a great way to up his value for July 1st.

I would say it’s an about 40% chance.

Read/heard that a player poll had about 40% of players having W’Peg on thier no trade list.

Chicago is going full tank rebuild - acquires Spencer Knight and a 2026th first from Florida for Seth Jones. Clears a lot of cap space for the Hawks as well, retaining only 25% of Jones $9.55 million dollar cap hit. Gotta wonder if this is the bar of what we’d likely get in return for Petey, retaining 25%? Jones contract was considered one of the worst contracts in the league for awhile there.

You have to feel for Bedard, Chicago's rookie gm has completely left him on his own, no support at all. Mike Grier in San Jose has done a much better job of supporting Celebrini with some decent talent to play with despite the Sharks being every bit as bad as the Black Hawks. Celebrini has obviously been way better prepared for this by his parents as well. You don't see them all over the television doing cel phone and mini van commercials. Celebrini has bewen free to concentrate on the game. I think the result is probably what you would expect.

Actually Winnipeg has had some pretty good success attracting and retaining players from Minnesota. It is very close to home for those guys and they're comfortable with the awful weather. So I wouldn't automatically assume Brock would have a problem with The Peg. The Minnesotans are really the one group of Americans that seem to be okay with it.

Celebrini’s father has prepared his kid real well, he’s miles more mature than Bedard, but yeah I do feel for Bedard’s situation in Chicago, his GM is an idiot and won’t last another season. Chicago will be circling the lottery draft drain as long as the Sabres have been if they don’t clean the swamp there soon. Grier has done an admirable job in San Jose. Even though they look to be a top 5 lottery picking team again, the organization seems to have a much more promising future than Chicago at the moment. The San Jose culture top to bottom looks much more healthier than Chicago’s culture.

Good trade for both teams.

The contending Cats get Jones with only a $7M cap hit attached.

(cap space is very important for a contender)

The rebuilding Hawks get 23-yr-old goalie of the future Knight and a 1st rounder

... while losing some cap space retaining $2.5M-per on Jones.

(cap space doesn't matter for a rebuilding team)

WIN-WIN

Yes, I like the trade for both teams.
