Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Richards on waivers...wow. He helped them win a couple Cups, but does that contract ever look bad now. Plus what LA traded (Schenn, Simmonds) looks pretty good for the Flyers.
The Kings are lucky there is no "No Movement Clause"...otherwise, they'd really be stuck.

Key injury to Avs - Erik Johnson will miss the next 3 to 8 weeks.

Okposo out 6-8 Weeks. 14 goals and 30 assists for 44 points in 46 games, that hurts.
Phaneuf "week to week". Nice way to avoid a trade, eh? If he's got a hand injury, why the fuck is he fighting guys like Staal and beating on Michalek? Obviously his hands aren't as thick as his cranium.

I just posted this in the Richards thread:dbr wrote:Maybe they found a trade but they want to see if they can unload Richards without taking a boat anchor in return.
I heard a rumour last night that Leaves and Kings were on the verge of a Phaneuf/Richards trade.
(bad contract for bad contract)
Then this morning Kings waive Richards and Leaves say Phaneuf is injured.
Dion "Boat Anchor" Phaneuf"?

Funny, the Leaves usually say sweet piss all about injuries.
"Body injury" has been their answer to these kinds of questions.
All of a sudden they're quite forthcoming?
Right at a time when Phaneuf trade rumours are swirling?
And they didn't breathe a word of the injury during the All Star Break?
Good thing we're not conspiracy theorists.

Doc, even with trading Richards I doubt the Kings could take on Dianna's contract. And besides, even with an injury they could still make that trade.

Sure they could.Hockey Widow wrote: Doc, even with trading Richards I doubt the Kings could take on Dianna's contract.
Also, it was was Phaneuf/Richards based... could've included another player(s).
I was trying to imply that the injury is BS, that they're pulling him out until a trade is completed.Hockey Widow wrote: And besides, even with an injury they could still make that trade.

The TSN video report indicates he's been dealing with the hand injury "for some time", "aggravating it" in the Staal fight, and "then hurt it more" when he jumped Michalek.Hockey Widow wrote: Isn't that where he hurt his hand, those fights?

Dion has been chicken shit to fight his entire career, now well known pugilist Staall criples him.

So TSN is saying Pylon is really really really ridiculously stupid.
Good way to nurse a hand injury: Jump 2 non-fighters in 2 straight games!
Well maybe...
