One of the best things about this season is the Leaves are a train wreck.

Couldn't happen to a nicer franchise.

Well, other than the Steamer - MG was the winningest GM in Canuck's history with a .626%.

Giving him another kick at the can, and if he hires out a decent front office - say a Chris Pronger, and a Brett Peterson type... he might be able to turn the corner. Not worth the risk.

I'd prefer them to hire Rob Blake, and flesh out the office with a Peter Chiarelli, and a John Ferguson Jr. type again.

I like the past player as POHO and a ex-agent as GM.
POHO to oversee Player evaluations, and GM with experience and savvy to get good contracts done.
Could be because of the individuals themselves, but this system seems to be working well in Montreal.

Willy just came out (:look:) and said that he's not on board for a full rebuild and would only possibly remain if it was the type of retool that Treliving was doing. I'm sure Pigman is already more than ready to bolt.

As I mentioned before, guys in their 20s, top guys in their primes aren't into wasting time burning in hell. They want to win. We're not ready to win, so this is the time maximize a player's value while it's still there. This is the type of weaponizing the media wanted from the previous regime.

You can always find placeholder vets that can "protect" the young guys better than the EPs, Kanes and Debrusks of the world...

But yeah, thanks for your continuing work, Doc :D

Steamer's hot dogs are the tie breaker.

I doubt Mike Gillis' dogs are in the same universe as the Steamer's classic dogs.

I mean, we'll see who owners choose to replace Baldy but man is MLSE getting some pointed questions about Chayka. Steve Simmonds eviscerating the decision in the announcement presser when he asks Pelley what he saw in Chayka that 20 other apparently 'well-known' figures in the league Simmonds asked didn't. Quoted some execs calling him a 'con artist' and a 'Liar' on the live TV presser. I can imagine what the fan base is thinking.

Even better was Chayka being right there at the presser for it. Nothing like showing up for your inaudural presser and have your character and your boss' competency publicly questioned. I'm sure it augers well for his tenure.

Looks like it's gonna be an entertaining year in Hogtown sports media, even if only off the ice. Better them than us, knock on wood.

Best part of that, Chyka's wife and 3 kids were sitting just a row or two in front of Simmonds. LOL

No fucks given.
