You don't get it? People are obviously tired of politicians and want a change, an upheaval, and it's got to the point where they don't care about what baggage comes along with that. The disenchantment runs that deep. Your comment about people "with good jobs and education" isn't that much different than Hillary's about "deplorables". You're just saying it in a less offensive way, while still being dismissive of Trump supporters' concerns.
Since you have friends in Iowa, why don't you try to find out exactly what their motivations are in voting for Trump?

from the people I've heard around me, there are two reasons why they support him (most common, anyways).
1 - He's a "successful" businessman and they think the country should be run like a business.
2 - He "speaks his mind".
For the first part, he's not really a successful businessman - he was given almost 1/2 billion dollars (in a tax dodge from his dad) and as had most of his ventures go belly up. He is good at marketing, and so he sells his name and it looks like he has lots of big buildings around the world.
As for speaking his mind, this goes along with his marketing and telling people what they want to hear. Of course, he constantly lies, changes his story and makes things up - none of which are useful.
The rubes were sold a story, and they bought it hook, line and sinker.

I reckon the muslim mass migration into western nations is a big reason. They dont integrate as well as say people from india or chinese asians. Plus they blow shit up and nobody digs that

Heres a funny story.
I worked nights a couple years back with a muslim dude for my work partner. We spent every night arguing about this and he finally after 4 months conceded that indeed the islamic priests/mullahs or whatever foster the non-muslim hate crap with their sermons. He admitted they dont do enough as a community to condemn/discourage the acts of terrorism against western people

As I mentioned before, I spend a lot of time in Eastern Washington and have made numerous friends there. RED STATE Eastern Wa, not snowflake Seattle.
1) they hate Democrats and Hilary is singled out for special demonization.
2) business is booming, work is happening, they haven't been this busy since W was in the White House.
3) they detest the socialist welfare state
4) an extreme left Governor elected by Seattle keeps their conservative redness crimson.
