I LOVE those sweaters. Not sure about the white pants but it looks bizarre on the ice with the lack of lighting. He white pants are reminiscent of a young Pacific Blue cruising the West End clubs back in the day. After a last dance at the Roxy with Loopy he would stumble over to Dids Pizza for some late night grub before a rage fueled cab ride back to Ambleside and a nap on the beach.

Say one thing about the MAPLE LEAF they have got this Jersey thing down... The hometown team could stand to learn a thing or two when it comes to Jerseys...

A lot of round table discussion in Toronto recently about how it may best to scratch Marner to get him going. Meanwhile - Boeser
Or how about just give Marner more minutes and better linemates like Boeser gets? Did you guys check Marner's ice-time? Nah, it's easier to assume he's on the first line and getting all the minutes. That way you can blame his talent...
Just to add to my point from many weeks ago, the moment Marner got more minutes and better linemates he became the hottest payer in the NHL. Looks like I was right.
BTW, Marner has 60 points with 16:08 minutes of ice-time. Try to find someone with better production with those minutes. You can't. If he gets 70 points it will be phenomenal. In fact, that is almost 1 and a half minutes less per game than Boeser got this season to give you an idea.

Daniel Sedin, of the long teeth, slow legs, and declining hands, is averaging a full minute less than Marner and has not been the benefactor of any kind of improvement in the quality of linemates, and he's plucking along a mere 11 points behind Marner. Daniel plays on perhaps the worst team in the league, Marner plays on a team that is sitting in the top 10.
I guess I just fail to see your point.

I'm thinking he was more of The Metro or Club Soda kind of kid...following it up with guido grub at Trocadero's on Renfrew wasn't it?

My point is you can't find anyone with that production in the NHL and those minutes.
And is it an advantage that Toronto is a better team? Marner spent 50 games playing with very poor linemates with even worse ice-time. And 11 points behind Marner is still substantial.

Daniel has spent 71 games this year toiling with poor linemates.
Marner’s production was crap on that 4th line. He started pocketing assists in bunches after getting moved up. So The fact that you even ask if being on a better team is an advantage is laughable.
So again, I suppose I just don’t get your point.

His production was not crap at all given his minutes. You are wrong. And why is a Mitch Marner on the 4th line?
Everything I said was proven true and somehow I am wrong..ok.

Wrong!!!
For Toronto, building through the draft will play an even bigger role in the upcoming seasons than it ever has before. In 2018-19, they’ll really need to find some late round gem no one saw coming, or some other Zaitsev if they have any chance at becoming defensively sound and staying that way over the next few years. The Maple leaves need their own Henrik Zetterberg, or Radim Vrbata, or Joe Pavelski or Ondrej Palat – so if their scouting department doesn’t come through, they could find themselves in trouble soon.
After Nylander, Matthews, Marner and Gardiner are paid for, there’s still the issue of van Riemsdyk, Bozak, Komarov and Moore. And don’t forget about Josh Leivo, Roman Polak, Ron Hainsey, Andreas Borgman and Connor Carrick. Then there’s the possibility of prospects cracking the roster — although they’ll each get a maximum of $925,000 per year. There’s still another nine leaves to take into consideration and offer contracts to and assuming these first-round picks aren’t traded, there could be about $10-$12 million remaining in the salary cap for everyone else.
